The comments are so well-written, you made all your opinions clear, this might even push into finally watching the movie! Well, I have to agree on the last few placements (adding Carmen to them) I don't think I'll ever grow to love those voices on Elsa's character, they sound so distant from her - but still, they're tremendously good on their own -. Some of the singers I would have put higher are Idina, Nataša (I know it's a rather unpopular opinion but, what can I say, she's my guilty pleasure) Takako, WILLEMIJN, but I know what it feels like to have, like, 30 Elsas you love😂. And we agree on many voices like Hanna (such a sweet comment you made💕), Ana (lately I've started to realize how much of her potential I ignored), Serena (though I think in F2 she's not as powerful as she was in the first movie, mainly in ITU), Sophy (I'm afraid the lyrics do reflect the sad situation Hong Kong was and is facing), Park Hye-Na (she understood Elsa's depth and feelings, she would be in my top 5), Hú Wéi-Nà (well, she is a powerhouse). And I won't even comment on Nesma, Anna, Katarzyna, Sía... I don't have the right words for their amazing voices, they're all my favorites! As much as I love Marianne, I still believe my perfect Elsa is Queen Maria Lucia, she IS Elsa, followed by Annika. BTW at 9:00 and 11:20 you used the same text by mistake

ohhh you haven't seen Frozen 2? It's certainly worth a watch, but you'll probably still come to the same conclusion as you already have now - which is that it's overrated (I agree 😂) I like Carmen more than the Lithuanian/Slovene/Slovak group because she sounds really youthful & beautiful in some parts! quite a lot of people have Nataša as their guilty pleasure, so you're not alone there, and I definitely think she improved in the sequel. Takako & Willemijn are ones that I want to put higher, but also have too many versions I like more 🥺 you won't comment on Anna, as in Anna Buturlina; so you're one of her fans too? Maria Lucia is still my favourite Elsa in Frozen, but Marianne just stole my heart here 💕 and yep that was a mistake on my part, it's meant to say "time for the top 10" at 9:00 🙈

well well well, what have we here!! a cute eye candy of an editing, that's what 😍 also a few disappointments like Czech, Ukrainian, Croatian, Japanese, Turkish and WILLEMIJN being quite low, surprises like Russian so high and Slovak & Hindi not last 👁👄👁 but most importantly a lot of agreements, starting from top 20 💟 particularly happy to see Italian, Greek, Finnish, Telugu, Arabic, Korean, Swedish, Danish & Northern Sami all in there and of course, thanks a lot for Kasia's 7th place 💗 I'm always so happy to see her work appreciated 😭 amazing video as always, I'd love to see your ranking of Anna too but it's ekhem just a suggestion 👀

Gotta say this is one of the most honest and well thought out rankings of Elsa, or in general here on KZbin! :D Coming forth is a long comment cuz, this ranking put forth a looot of interesting points! :D I'm SO GLAD you pointed out in your own politically correct way, the issue that fanboys/fangirls of certain versions create if their version is lower than they expect. People need to learn TOLERANCE and DIVERSITY of OPINIONS here on KZbin. Coming to the ranking itself, I'd start by saying your comment on Sunidhi was on point, she IS "rough around the edges"; I guess that sound is not for everyone, or in particular, for non Indians. Sunidhi actually has the same sound in most of her real life songs as well; it's her USP in an industry which otherwise was dominated by high pitched Snow White-ish voices since the 50s. :) Shruti was INDEED casted on basis of her popularity as an actress, in fact, all three speaking voices of Elsa in F2 were casted on the same basis, and many Indians echoed the same negative feeling against it as you do before the film released. At the SAME time though, I'd like to point out that Yong Chun, whether we like it or not, was ALSO casted, somewhere, because of her association with the dubbing director. That's a kind of nepotism if you look at it. In Shruti's defense, she just has one role owing to this celeb status; but Yong Chun had THREE MAJOR PROTAGONIST roles back to back because of this nepotism - and I'm sorry, but I don't think she deserved it either even if she's not a celeb. Another good point you made was in the Romanian comment - 'not showing off' doesn't immediately mean the singer is very genuine or humble or interpretative, sometimes it's just mediocrity and it should be pointed out as it is. Strong agreement! :D Beautiful comment on Finnish, except I do think she still shouts...but only in a much more controlled manner, it's almost like she worked on her belting technique these years and, it certainly seems to pay off! :D I am okay with the placement of Italian, but in the comment you mentioned 'daintiness' as a thing you associate with Elsa, which I don't agree with. For me she has a poise, a certain reserved enigma about her, but for me it doesn't translate as dainty. Not judging your viewpoint though, it's interesting how the same character can come off differently to different people! ;) I'm glad to know you like the Telugu singer that much; AND that you think she's different from Tamil HAHAHA (idk how I feel about this tbh, not singling you out, but maaany people lump Tamil and Telugu together even in cases like this where the singers are different ksks) I take it that because the discovery of these dubs was new, that's why it is happening, and I hope it changes, at least in cases where the singers in the two languages aren't the same. Lastly, I appreciate every voice in your top 10 even if not all of them would be in mine. *MIC DROP* ;)

Thank you so much for your long comment Rishabh! it's such a 'hidden' treasure, I always appreciate long comments, especially ones with discussions of points, as opposed to "this higher, that lower" - so here is an incoming long comment in return: I think there's lots of talk about ranking comments being respectful, and not discounting that in any way, because it is so important - being honest in comments is really important too! whilst still being respectful of course. Haha I'm relieved most people picked up on those politically correct comments, I wasn't sure if the chocolate analogy was too subtle for the point I was trying to make. As for Sunidhi, I didn't know that about her, but now it definitely makes me appreciate her more. Except as someone whose exposure to the Indian music industry isn't saturated, I actually love that typical Snow-White-ish voice. It's so iconically Indian & exotic! I remember as a child I loved this Indian song on Just Dance Wii called "Katti Kalandal" 😀 oh totally agree that it is nepotism involved in Yong-Chun's casting 😑 I suppose my comment came across as nicer than intended lol. She definitely doesn't deserve it. And I've already been that person who comments in every ranking "I'd put Yong-Chun lower" 😂 yesss glad we see eye-to-eye on the mediocre thing! and vice versa, just because someone is the polar opposite of mediocre, showstopping, it doesn't mean they're not genuine/humble. You're right, in retrospect "dainty" was not the term I was trying to express, "poised" is a much better word! I feel the same whenever I see the Tamil & Telugu versions lumped together, I don't care if you prefer the Tamil version more, as long as you have an appreciation that they sound different.

I debated whether or not to include the Indonesian version, it helps that I roughly had an idea of where she was ranked in the first movie and familiarity with her voice already! if I didn't there'd probably be "where's Indonesian" comments 😂 haha that was not my intention at all with that joke about Asians, but awww thank you 🥰 yeahhh I'm so confused why the dubbing director loves Yong-Chun so much, I just can't hear it 😕 interesting, why do you think Ramya reminds you of Polihs voices? As much as I'd never think to describe editing as sugary - you are so right haha! and I'm also laughing at your comment about the politically correct comments 😂 I suppose the comment for Cai Yong-Chun came across as less 'aggressive' than intended, but yes totally agree and it's annoying to see that happen. I also agree with your comparison to casting celebrities, as least somewhere else they've proven their talent! and 8:59 it's a mistake, it's meant to say "time for the top 10" 🙈 though I don't think it was too much of a spoiler, because most people love Maria Lucia so you can have your bet she'll be high. I beg to differ for Marianne though, I think I her inexperience is just the right amount! Where to start? I won't comment on my deesagrements or agreements this time, except that you have some different choices and that made this ranking much more interesting ! I specially love your comment on Cantonese and Korean versions, you commented those with such honesty and knowledge ^^ (even though some things are only a matter of taste). It just confirms what we've been saying for some time now - we REALLY have similar taste! 🥰 I was nodding and nodding...until Nataša appeared, she's grown on me so much, I've got "indescribable feelings" towards her. 💀We need more Ramya appreciation, some people claim she's like Shruti's twin, but they're day and night to me. I knew you were a huge Anna Burtulina fan, but seeing her this high really surprised me (not negatively though). Your comment on Willejmin feels so accurate, she's such a gifted singer, but somewhat distant from Elsa at the same time. I might be the only one who was never really taken in by Marianne's charm, but on the other hand, I'm happy she's got her avid fans. Hu-Wei-Na has always sounded like an epitome of wisdom to me and the way you put it into words is so incisive! I'm glad to see a sequel-only rank. I plan to do one someday. Usually I'd be sad for Monika, one I used to love, but she tumbled in the sequel. I'm glad someone else is pointing out Nuška and Girmantė are twinsies. I never realized Nataša and Jolante are similar but you're so right....hah I very much agree with putting Idina as the 'official border' between the versions you like and the versions you don't. Finnish glowup seems an almost universal opinion. I think I'd put the Indian versions in reverse order compared to you. Nice inclusion of Iduna in polish. Love her.

awww I'm flattered that you think my editing is peaceful & graceful 🥰 by the way I don't know if I've ever told you this, but despite what my channel's videos are, I'm not that big of a Frozen fan either, in terms of plot/characters. The part that I do love is the songs! and when you make videos it's just taking that into consideration. So you're not alone there 😁 I'll forever love the Renaissance movies more! Elsa got a bit annoying in the second movie lol - I think Disney tried too hard to make her seem selfless & don't want others to sacrifice themselves for me that it ended up being the other way around. I actually haven't been listening to Elsa's voices that much this time around and from what I've seen in rankings and one lines I don't really like most of them :/ I feel like most of them grew up more than Elsa did. But your number one is definitely one of the best, I love her! ^_^

I wouldn't mind watching those repetitive Elsa rankings since yours is probably my most relate one! Taryn if were to be ranked by singing instead of the cast fitting then she would be probably be in my Top 10😆 I am surprised to see Ramya that high, she does have a unique feel to Elsa and I myself can't differentiate her and Shruti but if I have to choose 1, it will be Ramya by a little. I honestly starting to like Indonesian dubs and the 'Newest Elsa' is the reason😊 Can't wait for my neighbouring country to dub Frozen 2 songs! Totally agreed on your number 1. When I listened to her for the first time, I thought that she was quite normal but my love grew after listening to it for so many times. She is really Elsa! She might sound shy and introverted but in Show Yourself, she is really confident and powerful. She totally embodies the characteristic of Elsa. FINE now the real comment; Just like everyone's saying, your commentary skills are just splendid, and I love how you pointed out the fact that Latinos & Brazilians love their respective Elsas while they're not that popular overall in our community, their audience is what matters after all 😌 Why does Shanis actually sound like a Karen omg, talk about brilliant comparisons lol. Elsa's voices definitely show themselves in low notes, and that's kind of sad because these songs lowkey require the opposite, which also explains my overall disappointment in this sequel's performances. awww thanks for saying that you enjoyed the commentary 🥰 I didn't spend too much on consolidating my opinions this time, just wrote down whatever first came to mind - maybe some comments are a bit too honest 🤷🏻‍♀️ on the Karen part, it had to be that scene too, I just picture her barging in to a shop demanding a refund or something 😂 interesting how you thought most Elsa's are better in Frozen, I think the vast majority improved! at least vocally. I lived closed to a Disney Japan merchandise shop in Japan and spent SO MUCH money there! I should show you all the Rapunzel stuff I have 😂 as for Tamil & Telugu, I think it's not so much who you prefer, but as long as you recognise there's a difference between them! haha that's the second time someone's commented "sugary" - I suppose I'll take it as a compliment 😌

I love this editing layout you've been using for rankings so much! We see eye to eye on so many of the low-placed versions, and the comment on Taiwanese was an interesting piece of info. I don't appreciate when irrelevant factors such as knowing the directors directly are involved in the casting decisions -.- The result of it is not impressive more often than not. Totally agree about Romanian and Turkish! The latter has improved a lot in this film imo. That's an interesting viewpoint you have about Willemijn 🤔 Even though I haven't formed an opinion on Nadezhda in F2, she's one of my favs in F1 too :D The top 15 have so many gems 😍 I love this "an innovation not an imitation" phrase you use to describe Nesma! To add to that, the dubbing director himself is actually the voice of Kristoff - so it's kind of strange, almost like Disney Taiwan has contracted out the official authority to an independent studio 😐 but yes totally agree, I also don't appreciate this kind of behaviour, even if the voice cast was really amazing. Even in the first movie, I loved Begüm! as with the comment here, whenever she says "Aldirma" it sounds like she's casting a spell. I know right, "innovation not an imitation" are the perfect words to describe Nesma! I actually discovered that phrase when watching a video about why Disney live-action remakes are awful - and the problem is that they only imitate and not innovate. Well, Mulan 2020 was an innovation but still failed 🤭 oh you're allowed to dislike chocolate for the taste itself, whereas disliking chocolate because everyone else loves it and you want your opinion to seem unique - haha hope the subtle message came through there 😅 awww "close to the heart" now that's the perfect phrase for Marianne! thanks for inventing that one 😍

To be fair I haven’t seen Mulan yet, but I’ve seen mixed reviews about it... but it says something if you think it has failed, for I remember you were quite excited about it! Haha I’m glad you approve of “Close to the heart” about Marianne. It is a phrase I use for only one other singer, Hisham Nour, as Hercules and Quasimodo in Arabic 🥰

I might be biased but I too love the nr1 spot version. I think her voice fits incredible well considering their non existent dubbing history in the past. She may lack the acting, but she more than enough catches up with it through the effortless rendition of the song. She feels so incredibly sincere, kind, maybe a bit naive, but also powerful where it counts. She does not sound too old either. I love her so much

Meirenyu I am Norwegian and have sami relatives. However, I do not speak the language myself. It is a beautiful language, just a shame that noray treats it so unfairly when it comes to entertainment and media. Hearing these songs in sami literally brought tears to my eyes. It made me so happy for them to finally have a disney film in their own language. It also made me happy seeing how their cast is sooo much better than the norwegian cast.

Bulgarian is opposite for me, I didn't care her at first but now she is in top 5, she has grown up on me so much haha 😂 oh I really love Chinese Mandarin Elsa, she gives me so much queen vibes (she's my number 1💖) and ooooh THAI???!! thank you so much!!!!!! (Her nickname is from the singing competition she won, which is called "The Star"😊. But now we call her Gam Wichayanee instead of Gam the Star😂) Swedish and Danish are... amazing, seeing both of them again after 6 years is so nostalgic because I really liked both of them when I was a kid and now I still 😂😭 and ooh your number 1!!! I think malay will use “serlahkan” or “tampilah” or maybe same like indonesia “tunjukkan/tunjuklah”..but in into the unknown “yang tak dikenal” will never use in malay lyrics cause that sound weird and strange..btw mikha in HQ sound so powerful same like marsha because her vocal sound strong same like marsha..but the lyrics sound out of tune urghhh Im frusted

Beautiful vid!! I generally agree, even with Czech which I loved in the first movie... Here this is too much. Seeing Norwegian this low, even if I do agree, is truly a heartbreak when they brought so many haunting & unique voices to the dubbing world. They failed the one role that was made for them, it really is a heartbreak! Entirely agree with your comment about Slovene, and God knows how great she was in the first movie - I blame the songs, they were so Broadway-like that it kind of killed the diversity of Elsa's voices... Your comment about Taiwanese was so intriguing, like they really did choose her for her personality rather than her singing skills? I love it! I like Kazakh for the same reason you pointed out as a flaw, I don't know, it gives a "sassy" side to Elsa. When it comes to Idina, this is so weird! They created a character for her, but the character slipped out of their control and became something else far from Idina. Same for the songs, when they are clearly made to show off Idina's vocal abilities, some of them still manage to slip out of this goal and so, Idina ends up being far from them when they were made for her.. it really is weird. Yes for Romanian, I like so much her unrefined, weaker Elsa, it balances well the songs. Agree about Willemijn. Your comment about Serbian made me laugh, even if I can't see a queen bee in Jelena's voice, she has something too "scary" in it, but I must be the only one freaking out :D Nice to see many favorites so high, we really have a similar taste. Glad for Charlotte, and 100% agree with your comment about her, but this princessy Elsa is truly endearing. Nice comment about Arabic. i see your point about Russian, but this stressful Elsa can be hard to rely on (I wouldn't rely on her to be the ruler of my country, if it makes sense). So glad for Danish, she is priceless, probably the biggest Disney dub ever. Glad to see Northern Sami on the top, she is amazing! awww your comment was so sweet 🥰 it's the first time hearing "delight for the mind" - that's always more important than aesthetics & editing, as much as I do love that part too! I'm touched by that compliment 😌 yep agree, I can't think of any other native voice that didn't do as well. Not only are the songs so Broadway-like, they are Idina-aimed. Whilst I do find it cute that she was chosen for her personality, it's still annoying that she was every single voice in 2019, and others didn't get a chance 🙁 yesss agree about what you said for Idina - sometimes I wonder what it is about Idina that Disney thought was perfect for Elsa. If you think about Kristen Bell, even if you aren't a fan of her Anna (though I'm yet to meet anyone who doesn't) she just screams Anna! haha I know what you mean about Jelena, some parts I absolutely adore her - she sounds beautiful & gentle, but other times not at all! as a French person, do yo prefer Anaïs or Charlotte? 😀

I wonder the same about Idina, but it scares me a little as I fear the Disney company will perhaps do this again - choosing a famous Broadway star and making big loud songs for her rather than for the character... but well it can work anyway, such as Kristen Bell as you said 😊 I like much much more Charlotte, I struggle since 2013 with Anaïs' vibrato and her weird accent when Charlotte is much smoother + has such a tender and humble sound! I'm really glad she became our Elsa, and she certainly became mine 👌

Fun Fact: people who like the Telugu versions a lot are special to me bc I think she's super underrated hahahahahaha The comment style is very new to me. Its not the typical "polished" style but rather a raw, unscripted and as you mentioned "rambling of my mind" kinda thing. I like it! Its not something you always expect in a ranking ;) I'm surprised you didn't say much about Tsai Yong-chun's performance for F2 but placed a trivia instead XD I'm really meh with her. She's good but she lacks a lot of elements. I wish they cast the Iduna voice instead for Elsa. I mean some of the 2019 Jasmines were literally cast as Iduna (Sunitha Sarathy, Ding Shuang, and etc..) and she makes an exception! To add, Rishabh's comment below does make it sound like nepotism, but I won't delve much into that... Your comment for Russian is actually somewhat true...there's just something about Anna's performance that makes it addictive to listen to. Yes, not the most polished, but there's something about her vnov za gariZAAAAAANT that draws you to it lol. Kinda interesting to see Willemijn in a lower spot, since out of the musical singers, she's often placed high. I like her German version more as always...since she sounds more humble and less powerful. Glad to see Marianne take home the gold!

yesss Ramya is SO underrated! I think it's because she's a newcomer (same with Northern Sami!) I didn't write anything else about Cai Yong-Chun because there was no space left 😂 also I've commented on lots of rankings, especially Jasmine 2019 that I'd put her lower lol 🙈 oh my that "vnov za garizant" line is such a perfect example! and I love your way of writing it, that's exactly how it sounds! I've not even watched that movie! 😄😄 I am not really interested on Frozen as a film, as you know, so I haven't a specific opinion about the characters voices. Your number 1 though is totally bewitching, she has something really ancient and elegant, sometimes that counts most than any power or passion for me. In no way does Taryn being ranked in the 40s mean she is hated, or anyone else for that matter. I assure you I truly don’t hate any of Elsa’s voices, and I am certain that applies to many other people as well. I don’t think I’ve ever said that Jasmine is my favourite character, but I suppose you assumed that from me having Jasmine as my profile picture. Anyway to answer your question, Jasmine 2019 is portrayed as totally different to Jasmine 1992 - she’s such an inspirational character, especially in this feminist era. Her personality is one of my favourite out of Disney princesses! oh and Lara Suleiman is my 3rd favourite voice 😍

For me the Jasmine of 1992 was very forgettable, they make shine more Aladdin and Jafar more than she. You think that Disney will give a Sami people a licence to dub more of Disney?
