Really happy to see the very underrated Polynesian language songs used in the film also featured here. They were beautiful, and knowing the backstory behind "An Innocent Warrior" really broke my heart. It is also ironic how a song written for girls who lost their lives in fire, got picturized in the moment Moana and WATER have their first interaction. The meaning of the sequence somewhat changed entirely for me after going through your video. I have to say I like all of Moana songs, and even the song on your last place, Shiny, is a catchy listen I enjoy from time to time. Moana's soundtrack and its Polynesian sound is really unique and stands apart from other Disney film soundtracks, really appreciate that. :D

The Polynesians songs are the ones that added soul to Moana's soundtrack, so it wasn't right to not include them :') And I never even noticed that, but it is ironic indeed hey! by the way, here's the lyrics to the original song: Let the tears fall down, My heart is filled with sorrow, For we have lost Many loved ones Let the healing flow over me And wash this pain away, For we have lost Many of our young women It's hard to understand That 19 lives were taken And along with it The future of a small nation Sorry not sorry, not trying to make you cry! 😢

I'm so happy that you put Polynesian language songs in this video😊 I *Definitely* agree on your first and last place songs since I'm not a huge fan of modern songs and 'I am Moana' is by far my most favourite Moana song probably because of the 'I am Moana!!' part haha😁 Great video as always 美人鱼！ PS: Even though 'I am Moana' is my most favourite Moana song, 'Tulou Tagaloa' and 'We Know The Way' is actually the song I kinda more addicted to:/

Lovely ranking! You're editing is so soothing, beautiful! I really like the songs from this movie, and how they are true and respecful to the culture, the Polynesian songs are among my favourits too, but my love goes to "Where you are", it puts me in such a good mood, I don't know I find it refreshing and uplifting!^^ Moana is a very well done movie, much better then Frozen, but again form me almost everything is better then Frozen, which is so overrated xD Still, I don't think it has the streght of previews Disney classics; I loved it better before, now it's just ok, but the songs are great! Sorry for the long comment, I just felt like sharing that xD

Thanks for the comment! don't be sorry for anything - I always love reading long comments, especially ones that are honest over sugarcoated words :') Even the story of Moana is so true to culture, because the Polynesians were known for the ancient & mysterious navigation techniques! something which I had no idea about before! As for Moana's uplifting songs - it's either "Where You Are", "We Know the Way", or "Logo te Pate" - one (or more) of those three does the trick for each person in putting you in a good mood 😃 haha you must be so tired of seeing all these Frozen videos then! I do love Frozen 2, but you're not alone in thinking Frozen in overrated 🤭

Ahhh! The layout is beautiful once again 💖 we're being blessed by this everytime hihi x) It took me 2 and 1/2 years to see the movie and safe to say, I ended up crying here and there 😂 but I really love the story, the visuals, and mostly, watching the entire movie was like eating the creamiest cheesecake in the world... I love how you put the Polynesian songs in the ranking as well and I do agree that they give the movie the strongest foundation :) Now, onto the songs! I actually love the pop version of HFIG ahaha... so if I had to rank the movie's song I guess I'd put it in a special mention category :). I agree with Shiny. Its kind of a lackluster (ironic...?) song for me but I still get a good chuckle while I listen to it. Same comment as well for You're Welcome but its a bit catchier and fun to listen to. For HFIG reprise, its a really nice addition and the way the song is weaved to the animation as well 💖 "Where You Are" is also a fun song to listen to! I just like listening/watching to the ensemble and various characters sing and dance for 3 minutes. I was really shocked with An Innocent Warrior's story... I guess I'll never view it the same the way again and may those girls rest in peace. Its a subtle yet hauntingly beautiful song in memory of such tragedy. I feel like my favorite songs from the movie are the top 5! I really get chills while listening to "We Know The Way" and its such a masterpiece 💖 Additional comment: As a Filipino, I really love the aesthetics and visuals of the film. I'm not a Pacific islander (though some mistake us for it) but the way the ocean and the various islands are shown throughout the film, it feels like home honestly. It's just really marvelous. Now only if we get a Tagalog dub for it 😢🇵🇭 P.S: Love that photo you took in Fiji! I hope I can visit the various Pacific island nations as well (Bora Bora I'm lookin' at chuu~) and I hope you get to see the PH too! 💕

Thank you! for the long comment & the kind words :') I honestly cry in almost every Disney movie 🙈 and yesss love your description of the movie being like a "creamy cheesecake" - so out there but I totally understand what you're talking about! Generally I don't have a big issue with pop versions, although they're never comparable to the movie versions, for me at least. Maybe I just have a passion for disliking the sound of mainstream pop music 🙄 I only found out about the backstory recently too, and it made me cry. As for your analogy of cheesecakes earlier - my favourite Asian cuisines are Thai & Filipino! and one of my favourite desserts is ube cheesecake 😋 ugh I'm writing this comment late at night and just thinking about Filipino food is making me hungry ☹️ and yes I would love to visit the Phillipines one day! hope your dream to visit Bora Bora comes true✨

@@Meirenyu Yep, I'm Filipino x) I just disguise my username to be Korean bc...ehh I felt like it. The backstory was really heartbreaking and I actually listened to the original version and I felt heavy while doing so... Listening to it will never be the same I guess (in a good way) Oh and ube is the one of the best things in the world 😄😄 I've never had ube cheesecake but oh my gosh eating ube jam is just heaven 👌👌. Glad to hear that Filipino cuisine is your favorite! 😁

I'm trying to hold off from making Frozen videos lately - so many "Show Yourself" multis this week 😂 movies like Moana deserves more love & attention! I cruised around the Pacific Islands a few years ago and everything looked surreal, it's impossible to describe just how beautiful that part of the world is 😍 you should definitely go one day! thank you for the comment about commenting - that's always the most important part of any ranking! although I'm the opposite of you in that the more I think about what to write, the more I get stuck, so oftentimes it's whatever comes first to mind 😂 I wish I could plan it like you do though so it's more cohesive!

This movie is so fcking bomb! Also, I find this (I may be wrong) as Disney's most culturally invested animated movie, also the song writter really creates the majestic feel of this movie 👏👏 I just hope that they'll keep this consistently for the movie "Arya"

I'm not a fan of the movie, but the soundtrack is truly a masterpiece, as you said at the beginning of the video it's more culturally accurate than many other Disney soubdtracks. My favourite songs would be We Know The Way and Shiny (Lin Manuel Miranda's demo is awesome), but I like them all

The cultural respect & accuracy is a big part of why Moana's soundtrack is a masterpiece 🥰 ohhh I've never heard Lin Manuel Miranda's demo of Shiny - you're right is totally different from the final movie version 😱 I guess I'm not a fan of David Bowie, so it's hard to appreciate that song. But also, I'm curious as to why you don't like the movie?

Oh, I just think the whole plot is a bit slow, and I don't find the characters interesting enough, but I can't deny that the animation and the songs and the representation of the Polynesian culture are on top! I'm happy you discovered the Shiny demo😊, maybe I like it more than the final version as well

I keep on forgetting this movie exists and I feel so bad about that...it just didn't have anything impactful in it :/ the soundtrack is really gorgeous though, I love almost every song and for a long time I didn't skip any song on it, but now I am happy to skip Shiny and You're Welcome, they're just unnecessary imo. I really agree about Tala's part being really boring, though it is lovely. My favourite is We Know the Way I think! Lovely video 😊

ohhh! I always assumed Moana was one of your favourites (after Frozen 1&2 of course 😜) since you have a lot of videos relating to it. I skip all of "Shiny", and the second half of "You're Welcome" because rap is my least favourite musical genre 😅

@@Meirenyu oh no, I made those because the movie was popular back then and I wanted views on my channel XDDDD because of Moana I gained my first 1,5k subscribers haha Not sure how hard it is to believe, but Frozen actually isn't my favourite movie franchise: it's HTTYD 😊 but it's such an irrelevant movie trilogy in our community so I haven't made videos about it :/

Couldn't agree more with last place, I hate it, and I love most of the pop versions generally. But Moana's and Frozen 2's were just plain souless, hear-it-everywhere, kind of pop songs.

I didn't want to write "I hate this" in the ranking lol, but honestly agree - that's how I feel about Alessia's raspy singing style and how she forces her voice to sound soulless. And 'nice' to know you aren't a fan of the ITU pop version either, my confession is that I totally hate Brendon Urie's diva singing 🙈 it's the most show-offy attitude ever. I can't listen to it (or watch his music video) without cringing
