It's blooming like crazy in my garden... i have this for nearly 10 years and it does not fail me as the blooms are huge and prolific as well...Thanks for the review Ben.

It was blooming literally non stop for me in its first year. You need to let it grow tall so nodding isnt an issue. It doesnt alway smell but when it smells it's strong and really delicious, one of the best scents imho.

3RD year with 2 and while cutting back mercilessly I still get those big, beautiful fragrant blooms on the skinniest of stems. Tricky rose to dead head because of that. Will keep cutting back hard to one day perhaps be a strong shrub. Zone 8A in the hot, humid, Southeast US and wants to be a climber here.

Love the detaled information, ove haf mine 3 years going in to 4, sadly last year i had to remove it from the bedding (very tough and strong roots but wevplanted privacy pleached trees) i received it for our 15th anniversary and was giving me the best blooms but dince the dhock move in February its in 45x45 pot. Its giving me roses but uts not at its best due to not being in the ground. Today ive read its duitable for shade, which means i can plant it on the other bedding, its get gorgeous morning sunshine till early afternoon. Ive taken other notes from your video regarding mulching and adding mircogynal, i hope o can make it come back even stronger

Great video - thank you so much. I think this is the mystery rose that I have growing in my garden. I bought it years ago for £5 at a car-boot sale and it just gets better and better. I am off to have a look at the leaves, as all the other descriptions tick the boxes. Thanks for the tip on the watering of roses with larger blooms - I didn't know that. BYW - love the clematis in the background. Best wishes from Lottie in Suffolk.

First year I’ve had this. Planted 3 months ago. Growing well and just coming into bloom now (am in U.K.) but agree with the not so great disease resistance re blackspot / rust compared to others. Thought I was just unlucky with the plant I had chosen! So I am somewhat less concerned now to learn that this is a known trait for this particular breed.

Hi Ben - I have a two year old GC that I just love. It is covered in gorgeous blooms. A question for you… it has grown a new cane that has hairy bits on the upper leaves and bunched up at the tip. I waited for awhile, but decided today to prune it back to a healthy 5 leaf set. I do have a photo but don’t know how to send that to you. Can you tell me what this might be and what to do about it? Thank you for your wonderful reviews!

Just planted this one in the middle of an arbor with Summer Song on either side training them to climb with purple bloomerange lilacs on either side and flowering lavender in front and back and will see how we do... should add if you have issues with deer snacking on your roses, for whatever reason they tend to leave yellow roses alone ... I will still spray with Bobbex but will see...

Regarding fragrance, do cut flowers more accurately show how fragrant a rose is? It's often pretty warm and humid where I live (high temps in mid to upper 90sF) and I don't get the intensity that everyone raves about with Golden Celebration, despite having it for years. I figure maybe I should bring the blooms inside instead of keeping them on the bush?
@the_gardenerben Жыл бұрын
And it’s something is that you can try. It often takes a shrub, two or three seasons to show its full characteristics fragrance can be heavily changeable due to heat and rain conditions, and please don’t forget that we all smell things differently. Intense fragrances to one person may not smell at all to another.
@everettedl Жыл бұрын
@@the_gardenerben I think you're right. Maybe it's the tea fragrance that I can't smell that strongly. I have the same problem with Princess Alexandra of Kent, which also has a tea fragrance. I can smell it, but it's always mild to me.
