Personal Submarine At Flathead Lake | Day 3

In this video we are on a submarine research expedition at Flathead Lake, Montana. David Colombo and I were gathering sediment samples in Nekton Gamma at Blue Bay, while Cliff Redus explored the lake floor around Bird Island in R300.

How long did it take you to build this masterpiece? I have a quick question, can I use 3D printer parts if I were to consider making a sub? Could the water get through the PLA into the inside of the craft? I wouldn’t think water could get through the pla hull, unless you impacted

I grew up in Kalispell in the 1960s and 70s and swam in the lake many times, mostly at Elks Rest. As a kid the lake was very mysterious, no doubt fueled by all of the legends and myths we were fed. I would love to see an accurate model of the lake without water. The south end must be pretty spectacular.

@@HankPronk Yes, you mentioned that during your dive. I'm actually very surprised at that because of the the huge influx of out of staters that live there now. Which doesn't sit well with me, or anyone else who is actually from there.

I wouldnt rely on that little half pint scuba tank for a ditch Hank thats got half as much air past 30 feet. depending on depth youd be lucky to get three breaths of air.

this makes me sad... no fish....this lake is managed by a bunch of fuck ups.. this lake should be managed like lake pend orielle .. whoever has been managing the lake should be fired ... and the old guys trying to get it left alone so they can have mak days should be ashamed of themselves.
