Again, awesome explanation sir. Have one doubt, based on earlier recommendations, if I am investing 50/50 in nifty50 and nifty next 50, how would I find place for 100 equal weight fund??? Also with all due respect I kind of disagree with you saying not to use value research. I find most of their articles useful.. Pardon if this may not what you are saying. I don't follow what they say, but articles are good. Again, not trying to overrule what you are saying. Just an openion. Please keep us teaching!!!

If you are using the Nifty 50 50 combination you do not need N100EW. Hey I have no prob if you like VR articles!

I did a 3 yr sip calculation for Principal Nifty 100 equal weight fund and UTI Nifty index fund. The returns of the former fund looked far inferior than Nifty fund. Is there something that we are missing here ?

For most of those three years the Principal fund was also a NIfty fund. So returns should have been similar! If they are not then tracking error of this fund is large

Thanks for the info, Pattu. I have a question. What is the difference allocation wise between normal index funds and equal weight fund. Is it that in equal weight fund, all stocks carry equal weightage and in other index fund, say for example nifty next 50 fund, the stocks have varying weightages based on the weightage they have in nifty next 50. Is my understanding correct? If not, do you have a video explaining this and can I get the link to that. Thank you.

In a equal weight index all stocks have equal weight. In a index like NN50 or N50 the stocks have weightage according to market cap

@@pattufreefincal Yes, so in that case do you think that an equal weight index will be a good option than NN50 or N50 since the "burden" of lifting the index rests equally on all and not the heavyweights of the index. Thank you.
