As an ISTJ is nice to see some IxxJ love and representation. It's hard sometimes explaining what Si dom looks like and this is just perfect.

As a fellow ISTJ, I couldn't agree more! It was amazing how much I could relate to Elizabeth loving her experiences and being so direct!
@sarahberkner10 ай бұрын
This is relatable to me as an ESTJ too, that I usually need experience with something in order to do well at it, and would like things to be already structured rather than have to create structure from scratch though I can kind of do that as well.
@EpicPaul64 Жыл бұрын
I was so close to having some ISTJ representation, but this was a good-enough compromise, as they say that Introverted Sensing is the hardest function to explain, and it was great to see someone love the past and occasionally have some silly moments at the same time. I suppose my type can have a half-victory today!

he typed natalie portman an estj if you wanna see that!
@EpicPaul64 Жыл бұрын
Yeah, I did see that. However, Elizabeth being an ISFJ still feels more like representation than an ESTJ because ISFJs have the same dominant and inferior functions as myself, so I can relate to her greatest strengths and biggest weaknesses, whereas Natalie just seems like a workaholic.

Great video :) Loved the specificity about how her quirky side comes out. With ISFJs I do find that amusing quirkiness is more about the details one doesn't expect. They'd say stuff others might skip or refer to in a more general way, so this sharing is unexpected, amd can be extra funny when it's stuff that's considered not the most "proper" to share or fitting with the situation.

The way you explained Si made me question my own personality type .. I related so much to the information gathering and overthinking part. I tend to get stucked in the information gathering part when it comes to both my personal life and school work because it feels more comfortable to have loads of information to rely on, and later sort it out and narrow it down. I'm not really comfortable with improvising in other words, especially in new or unfamiliar situations. I've always seen myself as a Ni dom, not only because I usually get it on self tests, but also because of I usually relate when people describe how Ni works. But maybe I'm just good at gathering information, and reflecting back on the past, and using it in order to make guesses and predict about the future? Or maybe it is Se I am using instead of Si ... I'm just confused, man 😅😂 Anyhow, great video as always!
@EricWen Жыл бұрын
Have you seen my video explaining Ni on my second channel? Can you see if you relate or not to that type of guessing and gathering? Si is very misunderstood and perhaps it’s possible? I’m curious how comfortable you feel trusting and making decisions based on small observations, hunches, and guesses about what’s actually going on vs gathering more concrete specific details, information and context So for instance when meeting someone for the first time, if you talked with them for a minute or so would you feel like you had a lot of good information or guesses about what the person was about or would you feel you needed to talk with them and hear more about them to feel more certain? Feel free to email or something about this anytime ! Hope I can help!
@emmaboberg6818 Жыл бұрын
Yes I have and I remember I related pretty much to it! When it comes to decision making about what choice to make, I usually feel more comfortable with more information so that I know I really thought it through and taking many points/perspectives into consideration, even though it just makes me overthink it. I usually play simulations in my head with all the information to test out possible outcomes. I'm not sure if the information gathering is because of I don't trust gut feeling enough, or if it's my usual way of functioning, in that scenarios if that makes sense When it comes to e.g meeting someone for the first time, I usually get a clear vibe of someone pretty early on, even though my perception can change by time as I get to know them. I usually think "you feel like a person who ..." about people @@EricWen
@EricWen Жыл бұрын
@@emmaboberg6818 when you say comfortable with more information is the extra information what you’re observing in the moment from them? - vibe, energy, body language, etc Or more specific concrete information that you learn from them directly - ie asking like - what do you do for work? What do you like about your job? Where do you like to travel? what past experiences have you had that make you who you are today? Etc

Eric, I understand that it may be challenging for you to classify Aubrey Plaza within an MBTI classification due to the distinction between her on-screen persona and her true self. However, could you provide insight on Matthew Gray Gubler's MBTI type? I have my own doubts as to whether he is an ENFP or ESFP. I recently had the opportunity to meet him at a New Jersey Meet & Greet, and he exhibited numerous ESFP traits, although various websites have identified him as an ENFP.

She’s definitely an INFP. Ne inferiors don’t go on tangents, the function is too low for that to even happen. They tend to be inflexible and not able to handle change, which is why Ne placement in either the child or second function makes more sense. INFPs don’t get enough credit for being excitable when talking about a subject they enjoy with people they trust. Nor do they get enough credit for their attention to detail even with Si in the child function (even though their perceiving attitude can cause these details to sometimes get lose). Every interview she does is first and foremost ingested by her own personal feeling and values before anything else which is clearly very clearly Fi not Fe. Fi users can still be nice to others but they aren’t going to sacrifice their own strongly held belief. No hate, but I would’ve accepted ISFP but ISFJ is super off target
@hatterene39347 Жыл бұрын
Let's break this down "Ne inferiors dont go on tangents" This makes no sense considering that going on tangents is a thing that eveyone does from time to time. You're putting people in boxes. Going on Tangets is NORMAL. People in the typology community often forget that its not the action but the reason behind the action that matters when it comes to typing someone. "They tend to be inflexible and not able to handle change" While its true that lots on Si doms can develop habits and grow attached to those habits. That does not neccesarily mean they cant change those habits or create new ones At the end of the day Si is just subjective sensation and attaching subjective interpretations of sensory data to external objects. It's not just "change bad allways same!!" ISXJ's can definitely come to the conclusion that they need to be more flexible and adaptive. As we grow as humans we realize our strengths and weaknesses and what need to do in order to combat those weaknesses. + I dont even know why you're making this point because in all the clips and interviews I've seen (in this video and outside this video) she seems very habitual and often attaches her subjective impressions and details to the current situation/object. "INFP's dont get enough credit for being excitable when talking about a subject with the people they trust." This is just a flat out lie. Almost everyone that knows about cognitive functions know how excitable INFP's and high Fi users in general get about their interest due to how deeply they personalize their emotions and perspectives. Eric has even talked about this on his other videos about Fi users so I dont even know where this is coming from. "Nor do they get enough credit for their attention to detail even with Si in the child function" No one is denying and Si plays a significant part in the INFP's function stack. But the way Si manfiest for an INFP is going to be very different for how it manifest for an ISFJ. Compare her to an INFP like Timothee Chalomet and you can tell the way Si manfiest in them is very different. "Every interview she does she first and foremost ingested by her own personal feeling and values before anything else, which is clearly very Fi and not Fe." Which interviews has she done this? From what I've seen this is simply not true. Unless you want to prove me wrong with sources. "Fi users can still be nice to others but they arent going to sacrifice their own strongly held belief" Again, you're not wrong but how does this apply to her specifically? I just cant see her being a high Ne user at all. She allways talks about how shes scared of too many options and possibitlies. Considering that types with high Ne thrive off of pondering different possibilities/perspectives it would be extremely odd for her to be an INFP. I'm sorry, but none of the arguments you have made make any sense to me. It's fine to have a different opinion but if you're going to share your perspective please dont rely so heavily on generalizations.
