Being this subtype of INFJ is what made it so incredibly hard to find what type I was. I would often type as INTJ but was able to really feel other people emotions to the point where I thought I was having a panic attack when it was my partner sitting next to me. I would also derive energy from being able to work with people and help them get past a problem and form lasting friendships and began only helping those individuals I knew would be the most grateful. I also struggled with Te - It never resonated where Ti was very easy to see within myself as a computer engineer. I can be strategic, but I would rather be in the weeds alongside my team getting the project done together.

This makes SO much sense! I'm an INFJ, and I'm also a self-preservation 4 - this normalizing subtype of INFJs and the notion of endurance, long-suffering, remarkable self-management - the capacity to keep going and going and slowly chip away at goals is very much, extremely consummate with my life patterns. I'm very steady. But: the crux and chronic challenge for me has always been finding a clear, compelling goal. Thanks for this video and episode at large! Such rich insight here.

I don't know your name but I am also an INFJ-N (using Dario Nardi's acronym -N for Normalizing) self-pres. Enneagram type 4 (with a 5-wing). I would guess that most Normalizing Myers-Briggs subtypes would be self-pres. Enneagram subtypes because there is much in common with each.

Interesting timing! I’ve taken the 16 Personalties test three times over the course of ten or so years. First time ISTJ. Second INTJ. Most recently, INFJ. When Antonia mentioned that an INFJ might mistake himself for either ISTJ or INTJ I had to hit my back button and make sure I heard that right. Reading over the descriptions of the three types, I could recall believing that type was “who I was,” at the time, but I can also see the evolution to becoming what my mom used to call “becoming more like yourself.” I already purchased your Kindle book and looked over the structure. I’m looking forward to digging into it. Great information. Thank you.

I relate to both Dominant and Normalising (goes with being Social 1, really), but I sound more like the Dominant. I almost wish I was more like the Normalising in some ways since they seem to get more done and have more credentials and achievements. The thing about the Dominant crashing into a depression if my goals aren't met definitely sounds more like, while the Normalising's ability to bounce back and to always have other projects sounds like a different INFJ I have come across. I'm definitely more reserved than the Dominant sounds like, and would never mistake myself for any sort of Extravert, but it seems to fit just slightly better than the Normalising one.
