I dunno. Chickens are pretty simple. Dogs can get distracted by play and general excitedness, but chickens tend to have a pretty predictable set of reactions. That said, I wouldn't want to try to make chickens do anything more complicated than stand on a mat to eat food.

This feels like the best task if you’re a contestant because you get to be surrounded by dogs, an annoying task if you’re Lolly and end up dealing with chickens, and the worst task if you’re Alex because you now have to clean up up all that dog poo from your backyard 😂

I think they might have decided to be more lenient with the rules since the mat was quite small. There's no doubt that three chickens can easily fit on it, but it's clearly harder for three dogs to be on it at the same time, they take too much space.

Mathematically, if there is a point in time, when no dogs are standing on the carpet, and a point, when there's too many legs, then there must be a moment in between, when there's a good amount of legs (unless they put their legs on the mat at the same time, which is impossible)

Not at all impossible; more than one dog could step on at the same instant, and dogs do have a mode of locomotion where they step down with both feet on the same side at the same time. Fiddly (thanks, Mark Watson!), definitely, but not impossible.

Okay, I live in a cold state in the USA (hahaha so funny move on) I have driving gloves because I worked at 5AM without a remote start on my car. Thus the steering wheel is freezing cold and it’s the last thing to warm up in a car. And in the summer the wheel is too hot to touch at any time of the day (day not night) so driving gloves. Also with Covid and all a lot of people grab the wheel for some unexplained reason as soon as they get in the car so the wheel has germs on it. But with driving gloves you don’t have to touch the wheel after you sanitize your hands.

If chickens are anything like ducks, that's significantly harder to wrangle than a dog. Ducks are hard to catch. Worth it, though, because they are so soft, and sometimes you have to do it because they won't go into their pen, and you risk them being eaten if you don't get them in.

Just a point on the "To many" comment. If you go from 0 paws on the mat and we assume no dogs can put their paws on the mat at the same planck time (google it), then the dogs will have exactly the right number of paws at some point before getting "To many" on the mat. Time should have been stopped earlier.

They aren’t. They planned to use chickens for all 5 of them, and just had to make do with the dogs when the avian bird flu outbreak happened. Poor Lolly drew the short end of the stick of being the only one who did it with chickens, and probably not being able to reshoot the task with the dogs. She did get a bonus 2 points though for even having to deal with chickens at all, so i guess its something?
