I remember when they were going around shopping centres with a model of it and said to one of the presenters than it was to small needed to be 85,000 at least. His reply was they wanted a boutique standium and didn't want empty seats,i told him they were only after boutique supporters and for the rich and the point of making it bigger than subi was to allow the average person to go.

It can be extended to 70k in the future. They built that in. It's about price per seat. 60k is optimum. Anything over and they lose money.

@@AussieTVMusic What? AUD 1 Billion which equals to 4794 Crore INR. New Motera Stadium in Ahmedabad, Gujrat kzbin.info/www/bejne/pHXLXoGHj814jtU just cost 700 Crore INR with the capacity of 115000.

@@RahulJoshi-di3mm I have watched Motera video, it is not as tall as MCG or Perth stadium and offer not much space as of MCG or Perth stadium. More than 1lakh people in that kid of space will create more heat and suffocation. And not to mention about the facilities I bet Motera in near 20 to 30 years will not match the facilities or standard of Perth and MCG stadiums

@@demolishersyt6136 Building bigger than the MCG is a mistake I think, as the MCG is already too big. Sixty to seventy thousand is the practical limit if all spectators are to have a reasonable view. There's hardly any soccer stadiums that are bigger than that, despite the popularity of the sport. Also, the atmosphere in a very big stadium with a small crowd is poor.

If you're referring to Narendra Modi stadium, then it doesn't even looks half as good as MCG. Forget about Optus. Australian stadiums are awe inspiring, Narendra Modi stadium pales in comparison.

They commisioned a study that cost the taxpayer millions, then there was a change of government and they ignored the study. When governments say there's no money, this is one of the reasons why.

Wow. I'm honestly surprised that Labor were the ones that sold the stadium name. IMO, an indigenous name would have been a beautiful gesture. Oh well.

We already name almost everything with indigenous names. This was built and paid for by the workers of Perth.
