The ideas you provided for modifying the vehicle are practical and innovative. Here is a summary of the steps that can be followed to implement these modifications: 1. **Adding a Water Tank:** - **50-liter tank:** Can be installed in place of the seats while keeping space for additional equipment. - **100-liter tank:** Will take up the entire seat area. 2. **Installing an Air Compressor and Lithium Battery:** - The air compressor can be installed next to the water tank (in the case of a 50-liter tank). - It is preferable to use a thin lithium battery and avoid installing it in the front to prevent malfunction due to heat. 3. **Using ARB Drawers:** - Make use of ARB drawers and avoid using a kitchen setup as it takes up storage space. 4. **Adding Lights Above the Tires:** - Install lights above the tires for better illumination when refilling the tires. 5. **Adding Lights on the Car Body:** - You can add lights to the car body, and I will send you more details via email if needed.

More on the solid-state switching. Impressive brackets and utilisation of factory mounting options.

Going by that fuel filter location Toyota know this vehicle is going to be a pavement princess. For 4wd to have that in such a vulnerable area not just getting knocked but water and dust.

One of the things we do not like about the 300 Series. Would love to ask the engineers what was going through their heads with that one....

Great Vid. Just got my VX in June. First Land Cruiser but the mods are starting. Can I ask what aux battery did you install and can you share how the jump start feature works? Steve 🇦🇺
@PerthDieselPerformance6 ай бұрын
The Invicta Lithium Battery. Hybrid that is designed for under bonnet and cranking capabilities. The jump start is a momentary switch in cab when held down links the battery, good for jump starting and even winching!

You didn’t mention adblue. My guess is all these additional sweeteners will be to offset the fact the 2025 300 series will come with adblue, watch this space.

Some concerns about operating a Lithium underbonnet battery in an environment within a few inches of 600degC+ exhaust/turbos operating and 80-100degC engine block, that puny heat shield will do nothing on a 30degC day out on the WA tracks. Maybe install a temp probe to see if the batt operation is at or over specified temp after a drive. The bluetooth batt likely has a high temp cutoff I suspect but that is a last port of call for battery charging at the high end of the danger point but may not help future longevity of the Li battery (around 50-60degC and that Li batt will be 'cookin'). Ask yourself, do I need to take the risk operating an Li Batt at constant high temps? Will my insurance (or Invicta) pay out a battery fire situation? Maybe in 1 year remove battery and perform a discharge test to see if the overall capacity has tanked or on the way. If the Invicta batt has a 5 year warranty (like most other Li batts these days) test it every year and if/when it drops to 80% capacity keep claiming warranty. If the warranty is less than 5 years I would be suspicious. Maybe just fit a stop/start high qual batt under there for absolute peace of mind.

When is the LC 400 due? Anywhere from 2033-2035, or?

Likely around then, the 300 is still fresh and new, I can't imagine there even being any development from Toyota on it as of yet.

Is prado not just a hilux wagon ? . I've owned a 60 ,80 105, 100 and 200 . A prado is not a land cruiser. It's a fantastic vehicle but it's no landcruiser
@PerthDieselPerformance5 ай бұрын
Arguably the Fortuner is now the Hilux Wagon. We have heaps of banter in the office here about the Prado not being a Landcruiser, though it is labelled as such from Toyota. It's certainly up for debate!

I have a low km 105 series with front and rear factory lockers. It’s a tough, very reliable car that I can fix myself, the only downside being its thirst. I waited for the 300 as a possible replacement but no way can I justify the $125k change-over cost. I’d consider a GX but you can’t option it with diff locks. Now waiting for the new Y63.
@obs27466 ай бұрын
Totally agree, we test drove the 300, got 10 kms and took it back and then bought a y62.
