Special Interest tours and Trains Magazine sponsored a two week rail journey to Peru in September 2017. This covers the second day of that excursion. This was the most exciting day from a railroading engineering perspective...shelves with sheer drops, bridges, tunnels, switchbacks; any way to get trains from the station at San Bartolome at 4964' to Galera at 15,681'

Oh my God, I always wonder how this Railway line was built. How people live at these heights. ? Oxygen in Air is so low. It can cause difficulty in breathing or life threatening medical problems. Hats off to these people 👏
