As a Peruvian, this decision by our government doesn't surprise me. Peru is a very Catholic and conservative country. We don't have many transgender people here, abortion is looked down upon by society, etc. My thoughts on this topic are that if you are gay or lesbian, fine (I mean whatever), but if you want to become something that you naturally aren't, then we have some problems. Who in their right mind would want their genitals to be amputated? And it's even worse if you want it to become a right. Where's the common sense there?
