A good story teller. I feel pride when he says the importance of Tamil holy verses which are given more importance than Sanskrit slogas in Vishnu temples. The controversy of Tamil Vs Sanskrit becomes meaningless when he proves with a fact. Only ignorant people object to Tamil being used in temples I praise of God.

I don’t like how Sriram sidestepped the question. Brahmins can never accept social equality
@gokulanandan3 жыл бұрын
@@vettudayakaali2686 I dont like to generalise… maybe he is just focussing on storytelling at that moment
@vettudayakaali26863 жыл бұрын
@@gokulanandan Even if he were focusing on storytelling, it's unjustifiable how he emphasized "he was an outcast" to the child, as if there are indeed people who are supposed to be outcasts ! Nonsense. Amidst his storytelling it doesn't take long to say "in those days there was an unfair practice of treating some fellow human beings as lesser humans and denying them rights. That has changed now after people protested". Instead he slyly reinforced that treating people as outcasts is normal. And without the slightest embarrassment he did it in front of so many educated people. A leopard cannot change its spots. In fairness to Sriram, I can understand his situation where he would have not wanted to go into a long conversation with the child. However, he should have indicated that it was an unfair practice right away in his first response. In that moment, the child is surely thinking "oh okay, there are people who are outcasts and who should not enter temples". Poisoning a young mind.

Though the narrator has given lot of information, many of his narrations are wrong. Me being a local descendant of Tirumeyyam, I can find numerous wrong details especially on the structures and its age. And Srirangam was sung by 11 alvars and not 12 since Madhurakavi Azhwar has sung only on Nammazhwar and not on any deity. And the structures belong to very early period as this lord is older than Srirangam Perumal in existence. Srirangam is around 40 chaturyugams old whereas Tirumeyyam is 96 chaturyugams old
