One of John Gwynne's sons Edward, said that when he was reading Ruin, he was in his room and he was crying while reading and then John walked by and said "Yes!!" out loud when he saw Edward crying haha. They also asked him why he's doing such awful things to his favorite characters, and he said that he's not doing anything to them, he's just writing their story. They do a lot of live chats and Q&As on their channels and mention a lot of fun stuff about their dad's work and how the whole family would discuss it over dinner and basically grew up with these characters as he was writing this series.

The only multi pov books I’ve ever really loved have been the ones that give side characters some time to shine. It’s very “Rozencrantz and Guildenstern are Dead” showing that the characters in the background are doing a lot of leg work to make plot more forward! Being able to make that stuff interesting and making you care about them is a sign of really good writing imo!

I, too, binge read this series. I was in school at the time and still managed a book a week. Mostly read during the weekend. I think the one mistake I made was jumping straight into the sequel series. I should have taken a break because I missed the characters from Faithful and the Fallen and the sequel series didn't hit the same way. I think it could have if I'd waited

Yessss!!! I LOVE this for you - there is nothing better than marathoning an amazing series. The last series that took over my life was Elena Ferrante's Neapolitan Novels. I read the first one and literally could not stop - I read all four in less than a week and it was amazing. 😂 Definitely want to feel that way about a fantasy series again soon, though. I might go with Age of Myth, per your recommendation!!

I'm want to dive into this series. I am currently obsessed with The Bound and the Broken series by Ryan Cahill. You should definitely check it out!! Ruin was my first five star read of the year. This series is so binge-able, and you just can't help but fall for the characters, while at the same time want to strangle them. I'm in desperate need of another series like it to binge and allow it consume my life haha
