Totally agree with your review of Only One Left, I enjoyed the journey but the end was just bizarre 😅 like you, I guessed a few of the main reveals but others I just felt like the author was trying too hard. The ending definitely let it down a bit. How High We Go in the Dark was just crazy, a few of the chapters in particular were stand out and broke my heart. The end was satisfying but also left me feeling like, what did I just read?! Really enjoyed Starling House, hope you read that soon

How High We Go in the Dark has become one of my favorite books. It’s one that has stuck with me since I read it and always pops into my mind. I loved it so much and I recommend it to every reader I know because not enough people know about it!!

I just finished the Unmaking of June Farrow, and I completely agree with everything you said! Definitely recommend, but I just wish the plot and angst were more evenly spaced out. However, I couldn't put it down! So many truths to uncover, I just had to know lol 😆

One of my big issues with Riley Sager is that there is twist after twist after twist all at the end. And with each new one, I was rolling my eyes more and more. I've given up on his books because of this.

I just finished Final Girls by him for my book club and we said that very same thing about it! That was my first Sager novel and I was going to try some of his others but if they are all like that I may just skip... It felt soooo dragged out until about 70% in 😮‍💨

@@melanieschmid3860 Out of the three or four Riley Sager books I read, I liked Final Girls the most. I was hopeful that my like for them would improve the more I read but I just disliked his books even more. If you wanna try another, go for it but I feel like Final Girls is a good representation of how he writes and if you don't like it, you probably wont like his other books.

Riley Sager is kind of like Stephen King, in that he sticks the landing about 20% of the time. My favorite of his is still Home Before Dark, but I liked The Only One Left (but yeah, the ending is UNHINGED).
