Mate, I'm not a teenage youtuber. I'm 32 with 3 kids under 4 years old. My opportunity to be loud is scarce lol. I look forward to PES 2018 as well, and I'm sure if they show more gameplay, a real opinion can be formed. I'm still very excited about all the improvements they've made, and can't wait to see more in action.

Good stuff Matt, Konami should really consider hiring you.

Means a lot from you, sir. Thanks. We're all glorified beta testers. Some believe you have to play the game to do a good job, and some remember this is representation of a sport - a sport that some play but 90% watch on TV, yet there are guys that make $$$ from working for Sky Sports that all they do is watch. I analyze so I don't have to do any watching, and all of us PES fans can just play our flippin Master Leagues, and chosen game modes!

Great stuff as always mate. I think when you spoke to Asim and Adam on Twitter they were still on the E3 buzz, which is understandable. It's nice to know you can speak to them, though, compared to EA who respond purely to Ultimate Team. 3 months is a long time until release, hopefully they have taken on board your views; like you said, you're the voice of many - not a lone voice. I wouldn't get too hung up on it mate, hopefully they find a fix before final build, and if not, hopefully there's a more effective in game fix; maybe regarding tactics, who knows? The game is looking really promising, some subtle things that they've improved that make a massive difference. Keep well, man!

Yes. I admit I chose the wrong time and place relative to their attention, and state. I didn't intend to rain on the parade, and as a result was seen as a troll. I don't agree with that or agree with how it was handled, but it is what it is with social media. Thankfully I know who I am and know that I do represent the PES community of die hard fans, so my intent is never to take the spotlight or hate - it's always to help them, which will help the beautiful game that is PES.
@lukemason8887 жыл бұрын
Matt10L you don't have to justify yourself to us lot on here, or the sites you're a part of! I also thought it was handled incorrectly, as you say, you're not a troll! Maybe they didn't like the fact you were right about the positioning?! They'll probably take it away and look at the highlighted problems. They've acknowledged what you've pointed out so they'd be foolish not to look at it

I don't know anything about soccer, so this video is extremely helpful. This is the only channel I'm subscribed to for video game soccer analysis. I'll spend my money on a soccer game when Matt10 praises all aspects of it. Maybe PES2019?

Haha. Thanks, man. I think PES 18 will be fine. Something feels different this year. Maybe it's that the Footy U guys are all over it, and we're getting good responses from Adam and Asim, not to mention Taya-san.

100%. this is the main issue of pes i realized 2 years ago which is making it too easy to score and boring with time if they enhance the off ball control then pes will be the best and the more realistic football simulator of all time.. thanks for sending our voice big man !
@Matt10L7 жыл бұрын
Yes indeed. Thanks for the comment. Agreed, off the ball positioning, in any sport, is so key. It doesn't take the limelight though, and that is the problem with modern sports game thinking. The problem is it's been there before, we've had games that had that, at some point in time, so it's hard to think why it's such trouble now.
@walidmalak26817 жыл бұрын
Matt10L is it intintional by them to broadcast the new level midfield ai the next year installment ?? and if they want to enhance the have the pes team heared you before ? and this type of improvments easy for them to fix on your opinion ?
@papernut55697 жыл бұрын
No doubt most of the footage is from a lower level, but the up and down is still concerning. It is slower, but I am still concerned with lack of fouls and contact in general. What is the point of a new free kick system when you will only get to use it once or twice every 5 games or so.....You are on point as usual on the positioning as well. The movement and dribbling of the players is very impressive. Hope you send this to Taya-San on Twitter. He may be the one to do something about all this.
@Matt10L7 жыл бұрын
Thanks, man. Yeah some evo guys have forwarded it to him as they can speak Japanese. I agree, regardless of difficulty, it's basic common sense of the sport. Like I said in another comment. Throw the ball on the pitch and let the guys have a pick up match. You will see better positioning in that than those instances that I paused on the screen. That should say something. I also want to see more fouls/free-kicks and penalties (for the user!) this year.

what a great analasys. You are so right about the positioning
@Matt10L7 жыл бұрын
Thank you. I hate to be right, but it's glaring. However, i understand why it's there. It would not appeal to many if every match ended in 0-0 and it was a chore to actually break a team. Not easy to please us PES fans. I do hope that longer matches results in more realistic positioning, but I know that's a big hope.
@outlaw24907 жыл бұрын
Matt10L yeah i feel you, but when i play fifa its so more realistic, coming from someone who played iss until pes6. With fifa i sometime play games where the fight is on the midfield, you know, where myself and my opponent arent in super shape and both defends are great. Personally i absolutely love this realisme. Every year im praying that Konami makes pes great again, because i still cant believe i made the switch to fifa back in '09. Aah men, when i think about iss/pes, i miss it so much!

im so hyped for this one lets hope they change it for superstar so every defender knows how to position them selfs
@Matt10L7 жыл бұрын
Yes, I am hyped too. I hope it's not related to difficulty level as there are some fantastic gameplays that can occur on lower difficulties (less scripting, etc), but if that's what we're dealt with - we'll...deal with it :)
@humordetarhumor7 жыл бұрын
totally agree with you! I also want them to improve the ref. you could slaughter a player and only get to yellow. And also if he gives you a advantage and much time elapse then he forgets to give the player a yellow card.

Yeah, that would be nice. It would be cool to have the user penalties back too as I barely had any in 17.

@mathies35987 жыл бұрын
Well normally you would have 1 or 2 attackers and 2 or 3 defenders staying back watch the counter. But this shows there are way too many players here just doing nothing. At least they can move up to where the disconnect is to keep the attack going
@TopazCentuallas7 жыл бұрын
Can it be a reason of easier difficulty that might be causing it?
@BosGaurus057 жыл бұрын
Topaz Centuallas it happens in every match
@TopazCentuallas7 жыл бұрын
Yeah that's a damn shame.
@Matt10L7 жыл бұрын
I wish it was that linear, but it's not. It happens in 16/17 in every form of difficulty. It's just a little thing, but when it comes to a game like football/soccer, the little things are what matter the most - especially positioning.

Sorry mate think you are being a bit to hard on the game.I understand what you are saying,but don't forget if Konami or Fifa made the perfect game.Then we would not have to buy any more football games year after year.
@Matt10L7 жыл бұрын
Not sure how to respond to that, but I can understand where you're coming from. Striving for perfection, I would assume, would be the goal for any company. The input I have on positioning is something that will be a portion of what solved the common issue of overly end-to-end gameplay for all 17 players.
@strawberryyogurt07 жыл бұрын
+Lloyd Clarke ... *why do people keep using that same exact cop out line* "if the perfect game was made, then future iterations would no longer be purchased." According to most basketball sports gamers, NBA2k11 was practically the "perfect" or best basketball game ever made because defense and offense were both tuned perfectly to match or counter each other. Guess what, subsequent annual NBA2k games released did even better each year when it come to sales numbers (at least if my recollection is correct). If I'm not mistaken, the NBA 2k franchise continues to sell more units every single year when the "perfect" NBA game was created back with NBA2k11. The highly anticipated NBA2k18 will probably outsell past NBA2k games. If anything perfecting gameplay element first would allow the developer to spend more time on graphics, and other supporting gameplay elements to enhance the user experience, including artificial intelligence. Personally, I think continued persistent issues with any sports game comes down to the developers' level of talent. It's a case of one developer simply not knowing *how* to properly code for a given situation. Maybe the developers just don't know how to program said situation. Madden 17 still has issues with how the defensive lineman rush the quarterback. It's been an ongoing legacy issue. NFL2k5 (a game from over 10 years ago) and APF2k8 replicates the defensive line play still better than the most recent Madden 17 release. 2k also have properly programmed offensive linemans and fullback/tailback/running back to correctly pickup the block. Madden still have difficulties in this department.

Yes, it can. It's not from their improvements in PES 18 though. I honestly do not think KONAMI knew about these issues as I've pointed out. That's all. I hope it gets noticed and something can still be done. Can't wait for an exciting PES 18 year :)

You nailed it Matt. That's been one of my complaints too. The spacing system in PES is just weird. I still don't like the goal keeper animations, doesn't feel varied and dynamic enough. What about the ball size? lol
@Matt10L7 жыл бұрын
Haha, ball size is fantastic. Really incredibly excited for the game's little things. It will be enhanced with proper positioning. I'm not even talking tactics, it's all just fundamentals of throwing a football on a pitch and having a pick up match. It's really that simple.

5:14 left winger marked - ball goes to him - defender... runs away?
@Matt10L7 жыл бұрын
I believe it's the att/def level at it's very lowest for defense - so almost parking the bus. From there it depends what is anchoring it, I'd say all out defense, but I'm not sure of the tactical adjustments in PES 18.
