The thing is whenever I am playing in ML , AI cheating a lot. I have noticed that it is slowing down my players reactions. On legend it is less visible then on lower difficulty. I am also using p1 or manual control. The thing that's piss me of the most is scripting in that game. I am talking about passing. Very often it happens that I want to pass to my player which is for ex. on the top of my screen and consol chose to pass to my player which is on the bottom and offside. And it happens a lot . Anybody have the same problem ? And it was in previous games as well. IT is so frustraiting .

I cant play with assisted passing. It's like its choosing random passes. No control. The ai is awful. My biggest problem is ai is immune to giving away fouls. Two footed from behind? Fine. I make a controlled passive tackle, free kick (worst is when I call second player and the ai on him gives a foul!) The cpu is so much quicker; I have to disagree with spooney saying the cpu cant just stoo and turn in a sixpence, because they do this to me all the time.

Fifa on the other hand I found more balanced - I'll get free kicks and every tackle I try wont be a foul (though fifa has its share of wtf moments!). And all these problems could be fixed with one simple word: Sliders.

Great video, my friend, BUT for me PES 2020 has really big problems, which made dribbling in this game nearly imposibble (online mostly), which is absolutely not realistic. And without been able to dribble, for me the game become so so boring trying to do the same passing only games all the time, because we know that dribbling and improvising with the ball will not work(I played every single PES since ISS days). But actually, the problem is complex. These are the factors/reasons, that made the dribble in PES 2020 gamebraking for me: 1. The most broken thing in this game is the OVERPOWERED PRESSING & TACKLING (holding the pass button). It is absolutely no skill involved and the worst defender can take Messi's ball with an ease in 98% of the situations, only holding the pass button. The defender foot is so magnetical and he can change the direction so fast, going in the Messi's ball direction, without any inertia physics or whatever. You can test this on your own both ways - as a defender or as an attacker. 2. Collision model - So...not only the defender will take the ball, but you will be pushed 1-2 meters away and you will be unconscious for about 1-2 seconds. This is so...unrealistic, unlogical and stupid. Offcourse no foul is given, which is another - referеe problem... Shilding the ball is too much exaggerated. I mean, it is too often and it is kind of the only way to go past a defender. 3. Unresponsive dribble and online lag - Not much to say here. Slow changing of direction (it is like the player drift his own body in some weird incline position). Sorry Iniesta, but finnese dribble is a joke, it is always like a 100% taken ball from the defender...coming from a problem number 1. So, with these three big problems, I am so angry at Konami, because PES 2018 and 2019, had very balanced attack defence feel in the dribble department. The Demo of PES 2020 had not have the broken dribble! Sorry, but a football game where there is no skill gap in deffending (and it is easy as holding a single button) and to know there is only one way to play and win, a.k.a. trough passes all game long - is not a proper football, because it misses the most important component of a football game! PS: Sorry for my bad English, but I hope it is kind of understandable. :)

Sprinting near another player means he'll tug you back and you'll lose ball. Check close dribbling and high speed dribbling tutorials mate

This is very realistic.. I do this when play football in real life.. i look at the near by opponent and i watch his move and direction also speed to decide how i can dribble him or avoid him. I tried this idea on pes lately few time and i works so i have to slow down my player and focus on the near buy opponent then i can dribble because its hard to take on defenders straight away like before thanks Spoony for the important dribbling tips here 👌 cheerz waiting for your inter milan 3-4-3 formation and tactics video

To be more precise: At 2.15 of the video you perform a dribble with Ronaldo, what buttons you press to perform that? I usually play PES mobile ( have a channel on it), but I'm playing BAL right now. Picked a Hole Player AMF, which was aids. Until I understood how OP auto strength was In Mobile in legend or superstar they can usually tackle from behind and just take ball off You should play mobile for fun tho. Few things missing 1. Set up touch best to do it with L3 or R3? 2. How to pull off dribbles if there is more than one player coming at you ( everyone defends with team press or whatever you call it )

As stated, the first and most important step is to focus on defenders. Which way they're moving, are they running? Are they walking? If it's Gegenpress or applying secondary press... Then again, if you can manuveur around them (see Salah Vs 3 players) it's possible....but if someone's Gegenpressing or hold secondary press...just pass the ball around them... Why try skills in this situation? Move ball around them, isolate defenders 1 on 1 and that's when you should really start to use skills. First touch can just be L stick, BUT...if you want to draw a player in perhaps or skill off the first touch you can. It depends on situation (see Reus and Firmino).

Me: press and hold R2 for second (less than 1 second) if you doing right + move left Analog stick dribble to back for dragging ball & left or right for alternative step over skill Plus skill = press and hold L2 + move left analog stick (less than 1 second) to making alternative turn feint to left or right (Recommended = turn of the directional guide for the opponent doesn't know) This skill pretty much effective without trying hard move right analog stick This tip effect in pas 2018 2019 2021

When I'm trying to dribble past a player one on one with a turn and burst of speed, and I'm watching the defenders body positioning, should I dribble straight towards the defender or should I approach the defender at an angle? Also, if the defender is opening his body up and showing me to the right with his body position, should I try to cut to the left, and vice versa when the defender is showing me the other way? Finally, if I'm trying to beat a defender by drawing him in with a finesse dribble and then cutting, which direction should I cut and burst away?

Decent points Spoony! Question: what do you think are the most important things to take into consideration when it comes to shot/cross fakes? For me, I notice that strong/weak foot, dribbling stats, and certain skill cards all make a difference. But besides those, there's a lot of on-pitch variables: speed/momentum, pace of ball, distance of ball, and even which defending player you're trying to skip past (it's a cheesy solution on Konami's part, but it feels like if a player just has a decent defending stat, they can get the ball even when there's no real explicable reason given the motions on display). In short, I think there's so many variables, it's often pretty difficult to be consistent with the fakes. I'll often find that a player I'm expecting to fake by using the outside of his foot will suddenly use his opposite one inside, and it sets me up differently to how I expected.

Haha, I've yet to figure it out but SOME players perform the fake shot/cross SO quickly... The fastest I think...is Mertens. He's ridiculous. Even more so as a regen. Must be a player skill linked to it I'm sure but high ball control stats impact on skills. Dribbling is like releasing sprint and using L-Stick. How close they can keep ball which is useful with acceleration, you can bait people in close and then shift the ball past them especially if they're facing up to you. (See Reus) in early part of video...nothing fancy, just build up speed first... Then slow down briefly and then speed up. Getting up to full speed is really important though in these instances. Martial is good at this too!

I have a question about dribbling in pes 2020, which I really struggle with. It seems like when I watch your dribbling videos and other dribbling videos on youtube, the players seem to randomly mix finesse dribbling with normal dribbling and shielding using them to twist and turn with the ball and make sharp cuts. Then when the computer tries to take the ball, the player accelerates away. How do you get good at doing this? Whenever I try, I almost always lose the ball. Watching the defender helps somewhat but I still really struggle to beat players with dribbling. I'm used to playing FIFA where dribbling is easy.

I’m really trying to give pes a shot and have been playing it a lot lately, but I find it too hard to hold on to the ball yet it’s still too hard to take the ball from the cpu. I also have trouble in the box getting shots off I always lose the ball when I try to face the goal b4 I shoot and if I do get the shot off it’s blocked. If I’m lucky enough to get a goal then I either win 1-0 or tie 0-0 because I spend the whole game passing and trying to get an open shot.

On defense I will perfectly jockey to bait a through ball or pass to the cf for it to bounce or roll right off of my foot to the lone cf for a goal.

Now that the transfer window is closed, how long does it usually take before PES does squad updates? Is it smarter to just make all the moves on my own and save it? I'm just worried about the loans bc I don't think loans are an option in the squad edit transfer screen. Any help is appreciated.

From what you've seen playing PES for way longer than me, Do they normally put out squad updates close to transfer window deadline or could it be weeks?

@@RussRants44 If you're waiting to start a ML I suggest you wait until february 13th (the rumoured date, no official confirmation yet) when the data pack 4.0 drops because the live updates usually are missing some transfers and loans. Plus, after the DP drops the option files will start to be released too with updated fake leagues (like the bundesliga) and some aspects konami screws up fixed so I suppose that if you want a accurate ML save you won't be able to start one until the 15th or so. On the other topic PES2020 for the first time in the series (I think) has real loans in the ML like the lo celso you mentioned, some are inaccurate like Morata returning to chelsea in the summer transfer window (Atletico has already accepted to buy him) and some players loaned irl are not loaned in game but from what i've experienced this year that has been improved with each data pack.

After numerous instances of my forwards being caught offside, is there a specific attribute that a player has that could lessen this or is a bit of scripting in the game that prevents you having too many attacks so favouring the opposition. I don't think its just the other team playing the offside trap. Cheers.

Hi Spoony. Love your vids. There are several issues i have in PES2020. I am really struggling and couldn't find the answers on my own. I am hoping you would be kind enough to give me solutions cuz they happen way too often :( it breaks my heart when i play the game. 1. Players don't first touch their ball the direction i want them to. ex) i'm pressing left on left analog stick, but chooses to run right which is towards opposing goal when receiving an X pass. it's not like they fail to touch the ball, but rather have a good touch but to a completely wrong direction. 2. Players just stand still when a "loose ball" is rolling towards them, and the cursor do not change to that player. Its even worse when the computer thinks you're attacking cuz L1 or rightstick won't allow you switch players. 3. Players will side-step out of the way away from the ball. Happens either while on defense or on offense. There are more, but these are the most frustrating stuff that happens like every match or so.

My go to skill was the 1-2 passing. In 2019 I'd press bumper + pass, they would run straight away and in open space. In 2020 it's so much more sluggish and slower

actually if you want your dribbling to be as close to the demo as possible follow these steps: 1. Delete everything of pes in your storage 2. Put in the cd of pes 3. Stop the update which will start right after you put the disc in. But it wont be as good as in the demo but its the closest you can get

How are you setting the ball exactly? Are we trying to trigger the skill move as late as possible, almost like playing chicken? Specific button? Contextual awareness?

Setting the ball, it depends on the scenario. It's just about putting the ball where you want it to engage the skill. It's another video really to explain where the ball needs to be when performing each certain skill.

I keep wanting to get back into PES, and your videos usually get me feeling the itch. Then I reinstall the game, boot it up, start a match, and the fan noise and finesse dribble both ruin it for me in seconds. Oh, and that fucking stumble animation on every tackle....god dammit.

The scripting in the game is really bad though, it isn't necessarily you that is not being skillfull enough. For example, even when you do manage a clever combination of tricks to finally beat the CPU player, they don't stay beat, they get this surge of acceleration out of nowhere to come back from behind you and win the ball back, sometimes illegitimately sliding you from behind and the ref does nothing. The game is so frustrating at times, but I find the best difficult to play on is Regular, most of the shenanigans are not quite as pronounced on that setting.

okey, i respect your opinion.. i know tht u are not good to beat legendary difficult i bet if u train more about i think someday u win, but if u try legendary difficult u can see lot of mistake by tht.. if u against that 'using front line pressure 'most of the time they will put the pressure on u not bcs u play in legendary is bcs they are play 'frontline pressure' which is apply in real life football.. from there u can see your weaknesses of how u build up pass from there.. this game is not fun when u can't win but it is how our mentality of winning something if u just want to play for fun sure u can stay wht level u are rn.. 😬

@@mohdfarouq7163 As I said, it's nothing to do with the pressure or the tactics, it's the scripting. Dealing with pressure isn't the issue, but when you've beaten a 76 rated speed/acceleration player with a 93 rated speed acceleration player, you don't expect the bottom feeder players to suddenly be able to overtake the 93 rated player from behind and win the ball back. I think someone said they complained about the speed nerfing and speed juicing to Konami and they said they put it in the game on purpose. Whenever you play a ball over the top or between the players with nothing but empty void to the goal, your player is automatically slowed down so the defender has a chance of catching you up. Sometimes they'll do the push in the back animation when the defender isn't even near them, which slows them totally down instead of bursting away. Sometimes you'll notice instead of your players making a run to receive a breakaway, they come short to ask for the ball when they've got acres of space infront of them to run into, which makes absolutely no sense. There is also an algo that attracts the ball to the opposition players and a prime example is in certain situations, when the computer wants a goal, if you try to clear the ball away from your goal, it sometimes can find the back of your own net when the ball should never be going backwards when you're trying to clear it. The game has really cheap AI. Thankfully, I play on Top Player in ML mode and after your first season and you've built a proper team, the CPU cheating starts not to work so effectively anymore because your team spirit is too high overall. Your first season though is a nightmare.
