Wow, those are some players that you added to the list. But Mike, I personally have some plans and reccomendations for the next summer transfer window here. I wonder what do you think about these and whether you consider them later on. Here they are: 1. Replacing Boumsong (CB): Boumsong has an alright season, but he doesn't make me sure he's reliable enough, there's nothing wrong to sell him as he's going to decline soon anyway regarding his age. It's gonna be a good idea to look for younger CBs. Gary Cahill (Aston Villa) was a young, promising, and talented CB in that era, would be a really solid signing if you try to purchase him. Same with Michael Dawson (Spurs), just in case if Cahill's stats are not good enough, he could be a better option. Or Fabricio Coloccini (Deportivo La Coruna) who ended up signing for Newcastle in real life and even became a captain and legend for them there, he's still 23 at around that year. Maybe you could even revive revive Steven Taylor career too there. They will make your defence unbreakable even though it's already hard to see your team concede goals. 2. Replacing Faye (CDM): Faye has been consistent so far, but he's older than Parker which means he's gonna decline soon and gonna be behind in pecking order. My suggestions would be Michael Carrick (Spurs), Lassana Diarra (Chelsea), and Owen Hargreaves (Bayern). Carrick was actually a boyhood Newcastle fan, would be fitting in perfectly as he's so composed on the ball, has a great vision and a complete paseer excelling in long pass and through balls, and he reads the game really well, complementing your style of play while using possession or counter attack. I love him so much, so underrated and he's my favorite player ever. Meanwhile Diarra has a huge stamina, tenacious, and a great tackler, it suits this team if you're looking for a direct replacement for Faye with similar playstyle. Hargreaves could be another good cover or even replacement to Parker as well, since this was the era before he was hampered by injuries, and he was class in this period, his massive energy, tackles, and solid passing abilities, kind of similar to Parker imo, he could be an important piece to your team. 3. Replacing Lee Clark (RWF): Every time Clark got a chance, he was always able to show some respectful performance. He's quite tenacious, had decent feet, and quite effective. But there's no denying that he's too old to run and dribble from the right hand side as he was 33 at that time, and adding to that, he's not quick enough neither a good dribbler (especially according to stats). I would suggest you to buy Aaron Lennon and I hope he's already in Spurs and not in Leeds at that time, or Quaresma from Inter, but thankfully you already added him in your list. Either of them would be great to give more options in RWF position and to compete with N'zogbia. 4. Regeneration in GK?: Both Given and Harper have been reliable and displaying some remarkable performances so far, with Harper was really solid in FA Cup. But do you have any consideration to replace them with the younger ones since they were in their 30's at that time? If you need younger main goalkeeper, Marco Amelia from Livorno could be a solid option. Italian GKs are always great, and Amelia was one of the most solid young Italian GK at that time. He was even called up in Italia squad for 2006 World Cup which they ended up winning it, which showed that he had a high potential at that time. Tomasz Kuszczak from West Brom would be a nice backup, I always remember him having a high responsive stat in almost every PES version, which enabled him to show his quick reflexes. Both of them still can be better and their progression will be pretty quick. But Stekelenburg that you added there is a class keeper, great option as well. Yet, it still depends on you, Amelia, Kuszczak, and Stekelenburg are good alternatives. But it's alright if you stick with Given and Harper, I'm sure they'd still be able to keep their performances for some time though. 5. Keeping Shearer: I feel like he deserves to stay and win Premier League one more time next season as you'll build a stronger squad that compete for the league title. He's a legend for Newcastle, still prolific this season, and a great captain. He would not be a regular starter for sure, but his role in this team is still important and he's the figure that can motivate every player to become better, an ideal role model. 6. Letting Owen and Luque go: I think Owen has been average in this team, not giving enough contribution whenever he got the chance. Yet letting Luque go would be harder because he has scored some important goals and quite versatile as he could be a LWF as well. But the fact that he was probably around 27-28 at that time means that this might be the last season where you can get some decent money by selling him. Replacing them with Saviola and Martins would be a no brainer strategy, they're crazily good in this game. But gotta be careful on Saviola since from what I saw on your player list in the latest episode, he's the most expensive one, hence why I give another alternatives in Darren Bent and Klass Jan Huntelaar. I hope you would get some great money from selling Owen and Ameobi and from that money you still could purchase both Saviola and Martins. 7. Selling Solano? Solano's been a good and versatile squad player, putting on solid performances. But how old was he there, 30-31 already? He'd start declining very soon. You'll definitely need another versatile player beside Pattison. I remember that Christian Maggio is a versatile player as well, could play as a RB, CB, CM, RMF, and RWF if i'm not mistaken. He's in Fiorentina around that time, and he's gonna be a good signing if you consider to buy him. I reckon bringing Milner as well, he's in fact in Aston Villa around those years. 8. Changes and regeneration in LB position: I just checked that both Babayaro and Elliot were about to decline too as they're 27 and 32, need to replace them immediatly. Leighton Baines (Wigan) would be a really good option, he's gonna give you some qualities going forward from the left hand side since he has accurate crosses, agile, technically good, great set-pieces taker, has a wand on his left foot, powerful shot, and quite strong defensively. For the bench, you can redo your Valencia team with bringing in Fabio Aurelio who has similar skillset as Baines, yet he can even play as LMF and LWF too. If you look for the pacey one, Gael Clichy could offer something different. 9. (Another) RB suggestions: I still could find some good, young, promising RB somehow to replace or cover Stephen Carr. Besides the previous 8 players that I suggested in previous episode, there are other players like Mattia Cassani (Palermo), Jose Bosingwa (Porto), and Christophe Jallet (Paris Saint-Germain). And the reason why I suggested Heitinga (Ajax) was despite he's naturally a CB, he actually was a regular RB for Netherlands/Holland in Euro 2004 and I think in World Cup 2006 as well, and his ability going forward is pretty good. I hope these suggestions can be helpful for you to rebuild this Newcastle team. From all of those that I wrote, I'm really curious about the LB position actually, let me know what are you gonna do with that spot. Just unlucky that game against Arsenal, they got their revenge of the defeat in the FA Cup final. But you bounced back against Villa, great reaction. Hoping Newcastle still could make it to the UCL. Good luck for the rest of the season! And there's nothing wrong to get ready early for the next season, Mike, what a list that you have already there. Cheers!

Well, that's some reply mate! Thank you. OK, I'll bear in mind your suggestions. I think Shearer has deserved another season but he will have to be a squad player due to his age. Solano I agree - should probably be transfer listed. Luque I had high hopes for but if I can raise some funds and bring in Torres, I don't mind losing him! Thanks again my dude.

Alexis Sanchez is one who springs to mind straight away with Pogba a close 2nd. Sanchez maybe had 1 or 2 "decent" games but was absolutely awful for us.

Chris Sutton to Chelsea, although aquilani to Liverpool was a bit crocked. Balotelli to Liverpool, another duffer

The obvious answer to biggest flop would have to be Ali Dia! Released in 14 days! From a Newcastle point of view biggest flop would be Kluivert or Duff. Came in with big reputations and just didn't do it. Got to give Shearer a squad space next season but Owen, Faye, Solano, Clark, Carr, Babayaro should be sold on for younger and better players. Luque could stay as a back up LWF but could be sold to get all the other players needed. Milner would be an awesome signing as he was actually only on loan at Villa at this time from Newcastle so would be realistic for him to come back and lead the youth movement! Lassana Diarra was always solid on the PS2 PES. Glen Johnson was always good too and he will be young and on the fringes at Chelsea

Just leaving a comment to see if @ChorizoMachine may be able to recommend a patch/option file for PES 2008 for the PS2 or a website/link were I can download a good one? Just looking an option file with the basics for that season the game was released. Including January transfers, real kits and emblems, premier league logo, real player names and everything unlocked in PES Shop just one that covers the basics really. Posted in last video but received no reply so I just copied and pasted into the comments of this video. The patches you use look class!

Mike, what do you do about a 3rd season in a Master League save? Won't there start to be teams from other countries in the league you're playing in (England). I'm sitting with the same issue myself
