You only got half of it right. He wasn’t just getting to play in his preferred position but he IS a starter. He had the 9th most minutes in the squad last season and just around 300 minutes less than Haaland and Bernardo. The fact is that he left because he wasn’t getting used to plug holes in different positions and not play in his preferred role. If you think Alvarez didn’t play much, you obviously didn’t watch City last season
