Ma. Good day So I’ve cut my skirt. After taking the back half length n going in my 3/4 inch. Do I still take the zip allowance? Do I take it in or out? Also, did. U divide the back top and skirt, or u cut the half back length on both sides of the back?

Hi dear, yes, still take the 1inch for zipper allowance. U can mark the half or three quarter inch on the waist then slant to the neck and also mark on the skirt and slat to the hip line.

Hi Please what is back half length? How did u measure the back half length pls? Also, did u take out one inch from the top all the way down to the skirt. Confused at just that side.

Hi dear, sorry it was really fast at that point. You know our back is not straight. Before the Butt, there’s this part that goes in at the back. Now, To measure the back half L, it’s from your neck to that point that goes in on your back. After marking the point, from that point, you go in from the zipper allowance line by half or three quarter inch, depends on how deep your back is. Then make a slant line from the half inch to the neck line and from the half inch to the hip line. This is just to avoid zip bulge. After doing that, then you will still mark the one inch for zipper allowance all through. I will advise you to watch my video on Basic Bodice. To understand it better. You will see a picture there on how to measure BHL

I used 2 and a half yards, but it wasn’t enough. That was why I added a little black on the sleeve. So 3 yards should be enough Depends on the measurements you are working with tho.
