@@SimRacing604 Have you looked at Nicecuppatea's historic Grand Prix cars yet? He's already made five of the six cars from the 1923 Tours race, his most recent being the V12 Delage 2LCV. There is also a new, relatively contemporaneous for them to race on now; the 1928 Opel Rennbahn, Opel's proving grounds that also served double duty as a racing speedway oval prior to WWII. These near-centennial cars are super fun to drive; very squirrelly even compared to the earliest post-war cars, but still modest enough that they have a satisfying learning curve; unlike the Auto Union type C which can get lairy if you don't gingerly feather the throttle.

The steering box on those old Mustangs was what we called "worm and recirculating mush" (actually worm and recirculating ball) back in the day. The technology was later replaced by rack and pinion "and great rejoicing broke out across the land...." 😁

As a teen and a Allan Moffat fan i had the pleasure of seeing the Coca Cola Mustang and the Cologne Capri race. Then by the end of the 70's had the opportunity to do some minor work to both retired cars. happy days. Great to see sim versions

Mike, the livery used for No.9 Trans Am Mustang became an icon of Australian motorsport. The "Coca-Cola Mustang" as it was known, was driven by Canadian born race driver Allan Moffat (now an Australian) in the Australian Touring Car Championship. I was privileged to see it race when I was a small boy. I was so taken in by it, I became hooked on motorsport. I finally got to meet Allan a few years back and have a signed photo of the car. Now I get to drive it in AC! Thanks again Mike for the great content and bringing it to my attention.

The #9 Mustang is freakin' gorgeous! It's based off of Allan Moffat's #9 Mustang that he ran for both the 1970 and 1971 Australian Touring Car Championship (ATCC). He also ran the same car in 1973, with a different livery.

Thanks for giving this guy the shoutout he deserves - as someone into vintage racing, these are the best quality AC paid mods around - they're an absolute bargain for the quality of model, sounds and physics (thanks Abbo90 for the latter) - the Abarths play so nicely in a carset with Pessio's (free) Minis and AD3R's Honda S800. FatAlfie's tracks, like Thomson, are the perfect showcase too, good choice!

I absolutely love vintage racing! Got to meet Tommy Kendall in his record setting 11 win Trans Am season along with Dorsey Schrader. I'm also a huge late 60's-early 70's Trans Am fan (also got to meet Parnelli Jones at the Ford 100 Anniversary several years ago along with Kendall and Bob Glidden). Would love to see full field of the 70's season with all cars, drivers and liveries and vintage tracks. That would be an instant buy for me! Great video as always Mike. Billy Strange did a great video on this car too. God bless and race on 👍😎

To me, the 1980s is the era where the cars tried to kill their drivers by sending them a big slap of power right at the end of a neverending "wait for it, wait for it, wait for it" crescendo.

@Simracing604 A newbie question: If you were driving the real car do you think you’d keep your thumbs on the rim or resort to the “death grip” like the simulated driver? Your grip probably gives a bit more tactile feed-back, right?
