Thank you for the info. I live in Northern MN so your reassurances on ticks and Lyme disease sadly don't match the high curve we have here. %100 of my dogs have had Lyme's. I rescue and sometimes they have it before they come to me, and one got it after I adopted him. We're surrounded by woods, which is very enjoyable, but comes with ticks and it's hard to find Lyme-free areas up here. Two of my dogs got aches and fevers from Lyme disease, were treated promptly with dox and recovered fine, no measurable afteraffects. Most of the dog owners I know have had dog(s) that were/are positive for Lyme disease, many with symptoms, some without, some with life threatening symptoms. I personally know two who died in spite of the best treatment. So it's tough, and THANK YOU for sharing this! I do TNR and diatomaceous earth is a lifesaver for me. You also explained why you have no pollinators - Grass that's mown short, one flower bed. When you do have them, it's because they're getting fed/sheltered elsewhere and just wandering into your yard. Along with caring for my pets, I do wildlife rehab and keep a wildlife and pollinator friendly yard. Half of my yard is fenced off for the dog/pets, the other half is planted with native perennials and trees and hasn't been mowed in 20 years. No pesticides on my property for the 30 years I've lived here. To keep a pollinator friendly yard requires tall "weeds" and grasses. However - I also keep that half of my yard skunk, opossum, and bird friendly, and they keep up with the ticks. I find the deer ticks and bigger dog ticks after our walks. What's sad is, even though ticks are "yucky", there was a purpose for them and I grew up in the 60s and 70s hiking the woods and prairie - "The tick check" was a normal part of life and I'm skilled at it. We pulled them off ourselves and the pets, and didn't get Lyme disease. It's sad that this is out of balance now. Mowing down all vegetations and treating woods and the wilderness like the enemy is not for me or my pets. For the last 10 years I've used garlic and the diatomaceous earth with good, though not perfect, success. Our Woods Walkies are VITAL to the mental and emotional health for me and my pets. My cats hike with me and the dog, and are trained to come when i whistle. They follow me out and follow me back - YES cats can be trained to do this. So we WILL be walking in the woods, preventing Lyme and other diseases is serious business for me. You've given me some more weapons for my tick war - which is really a Lyme disease war. My boxer with hemangiosarcoma is still playing and doing everything she used to, maybe not as quickly because she just turned 9 ! But she is thriving and loving life because of holistic care and natural foods and natural repellents for fleas, ticks! But I do give her ivermectin for heartworms since I live in Louisiana! Just listen to Dr Judy Morgan! Oh mushrooms especially turkey tail was added in larger amounts! Love all of the information I learn daily! ❤

I always love listening to both of you… This was delightful and even though I didn’t learn anything you reinforced and helped me think through the life I am creating for all of my dogs and cats… Towards the end when you’re talking about emotional enrichment for our pets… I laughed because I remember just two days ago taking my dog with me and the only place I had to get out and walk her was around the periphery of a huge supermarket area… I was so upset because I wanted so badly to go to the woods and enjoy one of our normal walks. She decided to have more fun than she had in months of my woods trails… I’ve never seen so much enthusiasm the way she was sniffing every square inch every bush finding discarded little bits of food. Never underestimate an animals capacity to find joy no matter what the situation 🎉🐕‍🦺

We have TERRIBLE tick problems here this year in the pinelands of NJ. I am finding tiny dot sized ticks everywhere and they are dropping from trees and jumping from the ground even though it's treated. My dog and I have both had Lymes disease. I've tried a number of natural remedies but they aren't working this year. I don't understand what I can do. We both have a healthy, whole food diet as well and take supplements to boost our immune system..

I have a 15 month old boerboel and he goes for two or three one hour walks. I still have to keep him mentally active as well. Its almost a full time job but i want him to be mentally and physically healthy. Training is also part of his every day. Its taken a while for him to settle down consistently but hes definitely changing for the better.

What if they were vaccinated for Lyme once and then you stopped vaccinating them for Lyme disease because you found out it wasn't healthy what about the ticks we don't see Dr Judy? Help us Lord help us

I used food grade DE on my one & only little dog with NO effect on fleas in NW Florida. I even tried applying every day for a few days. She was covered in fleas & miserable, so I washed her 2x in alittle Dawn and a 3rd time with coconut puppy shampoo. Started her on half the reccommened dose of nexguard. I was unaware that med gets in the fur. Thankfully we had a good winter and she's been off the med for several months now. But its almost flea/tick season again. Where do I buy nematodes & other natural remedies?

Doctor Judy I had saw one of your parasite weekly alert where you had things about all kinds of parasites . I was the one who was asking you about the flee problem that I had with my German shepherd just turned 4 yrs old! I feed raw , use the natural kin and kind but was fighting a endless battle because it was it was already in the house . he did end up getting tapeworm. Which you informed me that I would probably see. Thank you dr judy because I took them to the vet and he did have it. Well now he was given a script of drontal plus that i havent given to him yet. Im afraid to Because of the summer months he on the intecepter plus. I finallly had to buy a steam cleaner rid of the fleas I had a house. treated him . I only want to ask because of the interceptr plus heartworm preventative plus hes on i am not sure why the vet gave me drontal plus? What do you think ? Intercepter plus claims to take care of tapeworm too but it's not working I see eggs still I want to go on all natural products for fleas and Tick but unfortunately the problem was already in my house. I'm So upset and I don't wanna hurt my dog but they're telling me to give him the drontal plus and I'm afraid to use it because he is an interceptor plus during the warmer months only! I have noticed some tremors in him and he's had since he was a puppy and was on these products I'm so upset. I wish I had known better. Wish I could afford a holistic veterinarian . I can't seem to find one in my area that is truly a holistic veterinarian although there's a few that claim In the list of them when I call them though they all recommend preventatives and no raw feeding so how are they holistic? In such a fan. So sad cause this German shepherd is my best friend and I love him and I'm wondering why I'm always at the vet and why they don't see the things that I'm seeing it's heartbreaking !😢 im afraid . I dont want to hurt him by using the two together. I value and trust your opinion! I want to get rid of this tapeworm but i dont want to kill my beloved gsd. where can i purchase milk thistle comparable to Denamarin ADVANCED. regular denamarin was not strong enough. i wil never give chewables again will avoid all these vacs and i need a new vet. i'm in PG co Maryland. i refused giving tick chewables but did give ivermectin / heartgard to one dog and simparica to the other.
