For real. The biggest improvement in my gameplay has come from seeing how to move though maps. To me, that’s the biggest factor to adjust coming from other FPS games like battlefield or overwatch. Aim and mechanics are always nice and will improve with time, but understanding how to pace yourself from one location to the next and see how he’s planning what he’s doing is has been beyond helpful.

Where else would he go tbh. I would do the exact same thing almost. You can't go backwards because there's at least 2-3 spawns on the side he spawned, he would probably end up running into them. Also, there are spawns on the side other side of lumber; they will be moving up from Cabin, and would probably be close to sniper rock or in the trees vertical from where he came from. The best option you probably have is running towards where everybody would meet, and try to have an advantage of being the first to see them.

That's actually the best way I found to run an SKS on a budget. Just bring 1 20 round mag and top load. You can top-load directly into the mag as well IIRC, which lets you still get away with running an SKS with no rig, but double capacity.

Just a tip to newcomers, you can load your PMC up with loot from your stash to make room for a scav run. That way you don't have to leave anything on your scav to get deleted. It might be a helpful tip to mention on the next raid season. Love the series so far!

I am really enjoying the Raid series so far! I'm a new player and you give some good pointers and you're entertaining aswell. It seems you feel forced to "cut" the episode short when you're aiming for 45 minutes. I personally would really enjoy longer episodes. Like 1 hour +. Great work man, and loved the 24h drop stream!

Great video Pest :) A thing you missed though: When you load your mags at 1:05, make sure to load the bad bullets and then follow up with the better bullets on top. That way, when using that mag, you're more likely to kill somebody with the first couple of shots rather than having to risk dying by the time you reach the good bullets

If you have a normal account: Pull the mag and handle off of every gun to stack them in inventory easier. When you get a mag case it will be more efficient. You can use bank robber vests + tritons. With the vests every 6 blocks you get 2 free that way. Store the handles in there / quest items / whatever

Pro rat tip: when doing a scav run with nearly full stash, throw stuff onto your pmc to free up space to accept the loot. Nothing worse then getting a ton of good stuff as a scav and not being able to keep it all. Especially helpful on a standard account.

my personal advice for Pestily's dilemma at 18:09 : if you get that good gear up from a clean kill ALWAYS get out. You can always go back for more scavs in another run. Not worth risking your gatherings for a scav

Another great tip for inventory management would be to remove your magazines and pistol grips on your weapons, you can buy the grips for the AK platforms pretty cheap so if you delete them or sell them you should get at least 2-4 cells freed up per weapon.

to other people who are hurting for stash space, a good thing to do is to remove the mag and pistol grip from guns. for example if pest removed the mag and pistol grip from the SKS, he would have gained 3 stash spaces for free, and doing it to the akms is another 1 slot. that can really add up when you've got a lot of guns, particularly if they're larger.

Just something that my friends used to do: go into the raid with an RPK mag in the gun, dump it when it's empty. They're terrible for space efficiency, which makes them pretty reliable on insurance returns. Also: SKS has its own class as an Assault Carbine, not an Assault Rifle.

I think a good approach if you're struggling with space on early levels is to get rid of things you can easily buy when needed and only keep what's hard to get. So everything LL1 traders available - sell. I always take the pistol grip and the magazine off AKs (and other weapons), so they're only one slot wide - you can get those easily once you're willing to take that weapon out, or simply put aside and save some space anyway.

I was trying to get several of my Jaeger tasks done ( pretty much all the Mosin and survivalist ones ) by the SCAV house on woods and its pretty annoying that sometimes SCAVS wouldn't spawn. Was sitting there for 15 minutes with a great overlook over the area from the top of the rock without seeing a single SCAV. That wasn't always the case, I remember them swarming in the area in previous wipes. Something has been done to them sadly.

The tip at 33:20 is wrong. If you joined into a raid late or disconnect and reconnect to a raid all bodies that have been dead before you connected to the raid will have a pouch slot. So that scav could have been a regular scav as well if he got killed before pestily joined the raid.

A few tips for all the other loot hoarders out there - Take the pistol grip and/or magazine out of the rifles in your stash! It cuts the size of the firearm in half. I usually have a specific chest rig that I use to keep all my pistol grips in so I don't have to root around for them. A second tip, which I just started doing and have found useful. Once you can buy the AKS-74U from Prapor (at LL1, once you complete the Debut task), you can get them for around ~28k roubles. Each one comes with a 30 round magazine filled with 5.45 BP ammo. You can buy the AK, and either take the magazine or the ammo from the mag, and then sell the gun back to Mechanic for around 12k roubles. This leaves you with 30 rounds of BP for round-about 16k roubles, 16,322 for me personally, which is around 545 roubles per round. This may seem steep, but according to Tarkov-Market, 5.45 BP is going for around ~820 roubles per round on the flea market currently, not to mention being able to buy 5.45 BP ammo even before you can access the Flea Market is a huge help! 5.45 BP ammo has the same pen, and slightly less damage than 7.62x39 PS ammo, but the 5.45 is far lower recoil which makes full-auto fire far more effective, especially with low Recoil management / weapon skills and not many mods available to put on your rifle.

I haven't been able to play Tarkov yet, but this series is easily my favorite to watch. Pest's game knowledge comes through in spades and with so many creators going the full chad or rat route, it's refreshing to see this kind of semi-slow methodical gameplay that takes advantage of map knowledge. Watching creators chad it up with no fear of loosing loot makes firefights less meaningful and watching rats play the same spots on every run is just boring just makes me wonder how they get views for doing the same thing my 7 y/o cousin would. When you're on scav transfer you can still alt click items to equip them on your main character even without seeing the window, it is quite useful as often you have empty weapon spot. Also, please remove mags and pistol grips from your rifles if you want more space

That first skier task was really annoying. What i ended up figuring out is that you can buy from fence so in about 20 minutes i was able to get all 4 of the white 3m armor and got it done. Just had to click on the armor tab on fence and then pressed escape and went back in every few seconds till i could get them all.

You should use the sort feature in your stash, even though some things are right next to each other just getting things out of the way saves me time searching for things
