@@FlintKnap Aussie hardwood imported into NZ was floated down waterways near the avondale suburb of Auckland and the social huntsmen established a habitat. I gre up in Avondale, my mum hated them and if we found them, we caught them and gave them to the lady in the video.

Im American and would adore handling this spider. It isn't about where your from. It's about understanding the threat. Why fear something you know cant hurt you? That would be irrational. In America there are like 4-5 spiders that could hurt you. And just hurt, not kill. Like bee stings(which handling bees is also fun). Know your black and brown widows and brown recluses and their territories. Beyond that, for the most part, you shouldnt fear any spider in America. Pick them up and say hi. It's all in your head. Even like 99% of all tarantulas on Earth are not life threatening. They just looks scary. But barely pose a threat. Look up jumping spider videos. Despite the scary name they are like tiny teddy bears. And pose 0 threat. A good place to start to get over an irrational fear of spiders.
