You’re right-disciplining is exhausting! I will say that it pays off tremendously when they’re older and you’ve done the work early on. It’s hard because you care and you’re invested in their little lives. That’s a great thing! Keep up the great work, Mama! Those kids know they’re loved! ❤

Girl, PREACH about the oatmeal in the bowl! My husband does the same thing, lol. I tell him he needs to rinse it out right away or basically turns to cement in there.

Hang in there with the discipline! It’s SO much easier to let bad behavior go. As a mom to a ten year old…. It’s so worth it! The young years are hard, but the reward for consistency in discipline while parenting is huge! You and Riley stay strong! 💕

You are SO right, consistency is key!! 🙏

Thank you for the honest check in about parenting because it can feel SO isolating to struggle so hard to keep your cool and be the parent you want to be, despite being strung out.

Exactly! It's a lot, especially by the evening when I'm tired too!

Hi, Blair! I’m a frequent viewer, but rarely comment. I just wanted to say thank you for sharing all that you do. I can absolutely relate to the evening chaos and the days that seem to be filled with constantly disciplining children. My husband is in the military and I am often parenting solo for days or weeks at a time. We don’t live near any family so the times he is gone, it’s just me 24/7. I agree that it is so exhausting to be constantly teaching/disciplining/breaking up fights. On the particularly rough days, I find myself blasting worship music and try my best to pray out loud before I respond in those chaotic moments. It’s not easy by any means. 😅

I hear you. It can be so tough! I love worship music too. 🙏

When my daughter was grown she thanked me for "being so strict with her" (we really weren't), when she was little because she said she felt like she always knew how to behave in social situations because we made her when she was young, and she couldn't believe how many people did not have that same "training". (Her words!)

So last night my husband said, “do you want to go out and run errands or do you want to stay home with the kids?” I immediately said I’ll run errands (alone)! 🙋🏻♀️ it is EXHAUSTING parenting (all year really) but especially during this time of year. There’s no sun so the kids don’t run out their energy, they go to bed later because you’re trying to do special holiday things, etc. I found it helps when my husband and I are on the same page and we tag team. When I’m drained, he takes over and visa versa. Seems to work but sometimes it’s just plain hard and tiring. Keep at it girl! It IS easy to let the bad behavior go BUT then we pay for it later. Keep doing what you’re doing, you’re doing a great job!!❤

I made the Mongolian beef for dinner tonight and it's so delicious! I added about a 1/4 cup of hoisin sauce and thinly sliced peppers and onions when there was about an hour left to cook and it's so so good!

Nora is such a doll!! Does she ever pretend she's vlogging like you do? Also, so much solidarity with the kids. My kids are all 10, 13 and 17 so I'm not dealing with those meltdowns anymore. But man, parenting has brought me to the edge of myself and beyond. Nothing, and I mean absolutely nothing could have prepared me for parenting. And it doesn't get easier. The struggles just change. Now instead of dealing with meltdowns and tantrums, we're navigating difficult friendships, first serious girlfriend and trying to give them space but also remembering what it was like to be a hormonal 17 year old. Sending you a virtual hug and I pray that our heavenly father bring you peace that surpasses all understanding. ❤

Nora made a 7 minute vlog on Riley's phone yesterday and she sounds just like me, we were laughing so hard 😂 At one point in the middle of her vlogging, she and Colin got into it and she started crying, but she just wiped her tears and said "Well anyway.." Hahaha.

Aaaaaaaw Blair am with you all the way 🥰 although my daughter is now 14 I remember those toddler/ younger years only too well and it was so tough at times. The teenage years definitely bring their own challenges but it’s definitely easier when they are more independent and you can have a conversation with them 🥰🥰 one day at a time, you got this 🥰🥰xxx
