I love these videos sooo much! The nursing home I work at recently got a deaf resident and I felt horrible because of the large language barrier. Between these videos and the little bits the resident has taught me, even if I still only know basic phrases, it has helped so much with us talking and seeing her light up every time I sign something new is absolutely adorable. Always keeps me motivated to watch these videos whenever I have time so I can start a new conversation with her.

As a pet owner myself (I have a pet snake) I’m glad now I know the asl sign for the snake! I’d really like to learn the signs for marine animals like pufferfishes, eels, whales, and sharks.

A friend of mine in college would sign the letter F then make it hop for Ferret 🤗 but she told me same thing, no word so if you were someone with a ferret you could define it for someone else first time then shorten it to the F hopping

The 3 year old is enjoying this a lot she finds it fun. As we're doing this a child next to us is leaning towards us to see what we're looking at, so we are sharing your video with him. I did tell Mom, who,where and why we do this for its fun, educational, and really this is a great way for a child to pass the time away. I like to think that it helps build a well rounded adult. Aloha from Honolulu, Hawaii byways of Waikiki.

Hi Meredith! I am a huge fan of your content! Can you please make a similar signs video. Following these signs that look similar please? The words are: Girl, Aunt, Everday/Daily/Routinely, & Arizona. They all look so similar. And I do get confused by it, please view and respond this comment. Plus make a video of it please!

Thank you fort he videos they are great. I am sometimes see the fist nod that means ye but with the thumb between index and middle finger. What does that mean? Thanks
@ASLMeredith3 жыл бұрын
Hm... a fist with the thumb between the index finger and middle finger -- when shaken side-to-side (not 'nodding' up and down like the sign YES) means "bathroom". Is that what you saw? See that sign here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/qnW9cox5acykb6M

@@ASLMeredith Up and down, It was in context of affirmative but not a Yes. Can that be used that way?

@@martinfahrer4971 Hm... no, sorry, I'm not sure what you saw. the sign YES wouldn't have the "T" handshape.

Isn't the sign for bird also the sign for the number 20? Or as I missing a part of this?
@ASLMeredith2 жыл бұрын
Hi Devin, good eye! The number 20 is the same handshape, orientation, and movement as the sign BIRD. The difference is in the signs' locations. The number 20 is signed in neutral space in front of you, while BIRD is signed near the mouth. Hope that helps!
