That final 1-ton bag of cleaned chips sells for what, $5-10? Problem is that if the final product is not perfectly pure it cannot compete with virgin polymer on quality or price. Float tanks with dirty water outdoors are not going to give you anything perfectly clean. Not sure what the point of the 1st tunnel was since it only sorts out

Смотрел не плохо.. но горячая мойка без хим. дозаторов на каждую тонну нужно добальлять около 6 кг. хим реактивов, концепция горячей мойки изежженая нет хорошего сцыпления при трении, большое количество центробежных отжимов в мусор улетит около 3-4% пэтф пыли, большое количество флотационных ван, а насчёт прозрачного сырья в машине удаления этикетки просто смантиравонное видео...чудеса бывают но только в цирке. Удачи ребятам концепция не плохая ...

Like at 8:03? Think thats a friction dryer, although it doesnt look like the ones I work around. Theres a motor that spins a central shaft with a bunch of angled paddles attached to it really quickly. The plastic flakes flow through there with all that water and the shaft and paddles are encased in a screen so that when the paddles are flying around they dont lose the plastic, but the water shoots through the screen.

why are the PET pellets still having colours? doesnt this still affect the final product when producing preforms and then pet bottles?

depending what the end product will be. for sure it might be better to have the bottles seperated by color and without tops. but that has to be done already one step earlier, where they are collecting the bottles and pressing the bales. In Moscow, in Russia, we have a project, where they are making park -furniture-, benches and tables, 10 cm thick. out of sand and melted plastic. here it does not matter if it is of different color. to the contrary. Manufacturers also claim, and that will be seen of course the next few years, because plastic is flexible, not rigid like cement, the furniture will not crack during winter. when it is cold and snow might melt and refreeze.

I love recycling and recycle everything I possibly can but.... I see a lot of expensive equipment, labor, electricity and fresh water being used. Is there a net gain in all of this? Is there a lot of coal or gas being burned to produce this electricity to run these machines? I am curious what the net gain is either financially or energy used or saved. Can anyone elaborate??

Melting process needs little piece of particle or pellets form, you cant process it when its in form of bottle and its dirty.

I've notice that too... caps are made from HDPE and bottle from PET. They should have separated it at first stage, plus the crushing stage can be put into 1 stage and followed by washing stage. And if possible they can submit it to drying stage then forward to pilletizer for end process and ready for plastic preform production.
