Bowen in his rabid frenzy to save the world by solar powering Australia must have dangled the govt (tax payer) subsidies carrot in the faces of all the investors to drag them in with guaranteed viability even through out the 12hrs + of every day solar cannot produce. And so now the 24/7 base load coal generators are reduced to an idle during the day when solar is supplying to capacity. This loss of earning potential for 12 out of 24 odd hrs per day for these coal generators will require subsidies and incentives to remain viable. AND now theres the new gas generators Bowen says will replace the existing coal plants will require investors that will also baulk at only half of every day having earnings potential and therefore will require subsidising and incentives to be interested. Bowen will have doubled you're power bill before he's finished.

I live in a country town and Due to circumstances I receive jobseeker allowance with rent assistance $966 per fortnight, of which I am extremely grateful for. My rent is $800 pf, I can’t afford fuel so I use only 50 pf and this week I had vehicle registration. Power is another story. I have 2 cuppa soups and 2 pieces of bread per day as sustenance and I don’t turn on the lights or the heater. Thanks labor. Life is freaking Awesome!!!
