So, the reference they're going for with those "viruses" is... a weird-ass deep cut. It seems to be a reference to a bomb scare from 2007, when a bunch of LED signs featuring Mooninites from Aqua Team Hunger Force were plastered around Boston. However, a lot of people mistook the placards for improvised explosive devices, leading to a mass panic that costed Turner Broadcasting 2 million dollars. Okay but the only REMOTELY plausible connection I found was the movie the panic tried to advertize had Chicken Bittle in it. When you take a steak off the shelf another steak must fill its place. I checked and about half of them in the last 15 years. (Keep in mind lettuce is rarely cooked, while meat often is) However that comes from runoff from cattle farms that can contaminate fields where fresh produce is grown. Certain vegetables, such as spinach and lettuce, are particularly vulnerable to this type of contamination. So yeah it's still because of meat industry. Just an FYI that you got to check the causes before jumping to conclusions. (am vegan and despise PETA)

@@psychohippie I apologize for the way I worded that, it came off as short and didn't explain my thoughts at all I thought the e.coli most commonly present in vegetables is from human waste, I know cow waste runoff has it's own share of problems, but I was under the impression that e. Coli we find in vegetables was of the variety found in humans. I do also support natural manure in farming, vs synthetic fertilizers, and so that does create another layer of threat and why washing is important.

From what I can find (but I am no expert so take it as is haha) The most common type of E. coli infection that causes illness in people is called E. coli O157 ,which can be spread to humans by: cows, especially calves, goats, sheep and deer. (and human to other humans through contact with unwashed hands, etc). Manure can definitely be a source as well. Washing is super important, and PETA sucks. :)

11:36 I believe that’s a reference the Aqua Teen Hunger Force Colon Movie For Theaters bomb scare that happened in 2007 For context: there was a movie that came out based on the Adult Swim show Aqua Teen Hunger Force. To promote the film, lite brites with one of the mooninites (a recurring character on the show) we’re placed in major cities in the US. However in Boston, they were mistaken for bombs and the whole city on lock down. Cartoon Network ended up paying $2 million that went to both the city of Boston and the Boston PD. The guys in charge of the promo did community service by designing a pretty sick looking children’s mural. And worst of all, CN’s president stepped down and his replacement was the one responsible for CN’s dark age with all those live action shows. What this has to do with Animals is beyond me

At 11:35 Those are light brights that has a character from Aqua Team Hunger Force on it. Apparently, some of the creators of the show put these light brights around a city and people thought they were dangerous. So the city went in lockdown and Cartoon network almost got sued.

Old person here to explain a few of the older references in the last game. The "aliens" are almost direct copies of the Mooninites from a show called Aqua Teen Hunger Force. In 2007 the creators of the show made a bunch of LED placards and placed them around Boston to advertise a new ATHF movie. The city of Boston actually thought they were IEDs that were planted by terrorists (look it up, it's fucking weird.) The LEDs looked like the aliens in the game. As for Jack Bauer, he was the main character on a 2000s TV show called 24. It was about the agent fighting against terrorism, and was criticized for how it presented POCs, especially Arabic people.

I have some insight in the weird attacking things from the third pirate route: They’re Mooninites, characters from Aqua Teen Hunger Force who are like, aliens that are the souls of the Atari E.T games buried in the landfill. The exact image in question is from a marketing scheme gone awry. To promote the ATHF movie, [adult swim] put LED light signs of the Mooninites all across Boston, but the police thought they were bombs, leading to the 2007 Boston Mooninite Panic. It lead to Jim Samples, the head of Cartoon Network at the time, resigning, with Stuart Snyder taking his place. I still don’t know why this was referenced in a PeTA game, though.
