Genie Francis and Denise Alexander have to be the most under-utilized characters on the show. They killed Lesley Webber off in 1984, and brought her back in an amazing storyline 12/13 years later aired in prime time called "Twist of Fate". Genie Francis went off to la-la land in 2002, and then they kept bringing her back, sending her away, bringing her back, sending her away. Fans wanted more of her, wanted more of Luke and Laura, and it never came to pass. Even today, Genie Francis gets about 10 minutes of air time a week. Why GH decided not to give either of these ladies their due still befuddles me even to this day.

Genie is to GH what DH is to Days playing Marlena and even SL Erica Kane. However GH doesn't see her that way and that is one of the many issues they have. They view Sonny and Carly is the show who have been carrying storyline since the mid 1990's. I don't have an issue with those characters it is just the amount of time they are on screen and others get ignored. There is no reason in this world that LW is on every single day and in everyone's storyline. Even in the days of Luke and Laura they were not on everyday and there was balance. GH needs a complete retool and Genie should be the center of it all because she is the reason people tune in.

Denise was used sporadically even after 2002. One memorable storyline from 2004 I think had Heather poisoning her. And Rick wasn't Laura's bio father. He adopted Laura after he married Lesley. Old GH fans will tell you that the Rick who came back in 2002 only to be killed - first by who we thought was Laura, then who we later discovered to be Scotty - wasn't the real Rick. For me, Rick is still alive out there and whoever Scotty killed in 2002 was a fake. But then I've watched GH for decades

2002 she went into a catatonic state. Luke said she had an accident so she didn’t have to remember she killed her stepfather. Even though it was scotty and made Laura take the blame
