After 14 years, I had to let go of my Rough last week. The videos and comments are more helpful to me than you know. I'v been told not to get another Collie, just save a shelter dog but Kelly McCollie was my first Collie and I'm now hooked. The only problem I have is finding someone to sell me one!

Well, they actually are categorized as a part of the collie family..so, you are wrong. They are not the same as rough collies though.

I have always had rough collies, and they were great companions. I bought a Black and white one this girl didn’t want him, it was her loss I loved him. There was a shocking storm the other night and he nearly knocked me over to run into the storm, I went looking for him couldn’t find him. He was killed by a car the other night by a car on the main road. I don’t know how I will ever get over this, I keep calling him look at his bed wanting him to be safe with me. I only hope he knew I loved him. I hope he will be waiting on the rainbow bridge when it’s my turn. Broken hearted.

Since my days in diapers my exposure to dogs always has been with Rough Collie. I Remember the personality and behavior each and everyone. At age 80 I have two sweet loving companions. ❤️ Both are standard long hair prsonalities..

It's either a 'Sheltie' ( short for Shetland sheep dog) or a Collie (be it with a rough or smooth coat). Two different breeds entirely.
