As always, an entertaining and informative video. A really nice summary of your year which also informed of National Highways Smart Motorway recovery policy of which i was previously unaware. Living close to a Smart section in Berkshire i was shocked by both the scale of charges and the abandonment off motorway. HMGov clearly dont share this openly with the public .

People need to remember these buses are probably 4-500,000 miles into life and designed for city driving. I.e not flat out on a motorway for long periods. Like people, machines break down occasionally. Its life on the road for you. I would love to do work like the tours you do. Looks incredibly satisfying. Nice to see RM1009 is still existing in very original condition, I hope that it is spending less time over a pit than when at AL for a short time in the early/mid 70's. Constantly being booked off for steering and gearbox faults, Power steering locking up if revs not maintained in tight turns, every turn on the 59 road was a tight one, at least 90 degrees in narrow roads in South Kensington and Chelsea and failing to engage 1st or reverse, having to get other crews to push it to turn around on the stand at Shepard's Bush and AK Garage. If allocated it for a duty on the 59 from the Garage I'd tell the Chief Engineer no way, give me an RT, not that piece of crap. A large groan if taking it over on the road and fingers crossed it was fault free, a rare occurrence. Maybe it just had it in for certain drivers that booked it off as faulty or insulted it. A happy and safe and breakdown free 2025.

Chances are, sadly, that if his employers found out about his act of kindness, he'd be extremely likely to lose his job. What have we come to as a society?
