My friend Peter Cartwright was not so lucky when his RF673 broke down during the Hertford Running Day .. had to have her towed back to Buckinghamshire cost £900+.. now she is waiting to have her engine looked at … really hoping he can get it mended at an affordable price! Liked your trip to the Four Pour Brewery and tap room … That Station Porter looks lovely (I love Stouts & Porters) .. not so sure of their Routemaster one … there is another ale .. Routemaster Red from the Twickenham Brewery (had you taken up the offer of running the bar for RM70 .. was going to suggest you get a barrel or two in for the two day event; but as you quite rightly say you have to make a living out of RML2355). Again I’m going to miss you as Peter is taking RML2440 to RM70 on the Saturday! Even if your RML is busy on Sunday 28th July; hope you get a chance to come to The Amersham & District Motorbus Society’s Windsor Running Day commemorating the 40th anniversary of the closure of WR… they have special dispensation to run into Windsor Deer Park etc..

I enjoy watching your vids Pete but I’m sorry to say I do find live streams tedious to watch. They seem to take ages to get to the point. A bit like phoning your Mum from overseas and the first 10 minutes is taken up with discussing what time it is where you are and what the weather’s like interspersed with frequent “hello” and “what a good line this is”. Judging from the few likes compared with those for regular vids I suspect I’m not alone.

Hi Pete. Appreciate the update about the Wings Tour Bus. I was watching the bidding too and concur that it "went mad". Also appreciate the other comments about the cost incurred, which I certainly know would have been in the tens of thousands of pounds, although £150,000 is surprising - bearing in mind the cost of the initial purchase from Justin James, that was kept private. You mention the ire that some have had over being asked for help with the bus, particularly over parts, and not being acknowledged afterwards for their assistance (and as a middleman to one of those people, that caused me some ire), which I can verify was the case for a few people, on top of the fact that for them and others, there have not been many good opportunities to see the bus restored before it was put up for sale in the US auction, six months ago. With the odd occasional embellishment over the history that Tom has been guilty of, despite knowing better (and remains to this day on his website, with the nonsense about Live and Let Die and was repeated on the sales blurb), Tom Jennings has not always been the best he can be. All that said, I am content to hear that he has sold the vehicle successfully and that he has made the kind of price that covered his costs and that the bus has not proven to be a 'story too far' for him and an albatross around his neck. There is no argument with the fact that he is responsible for this vehicle's restoration, and therefore I broadly concur with your expressed sentiment on that. As to the buyer and new owner, before seeing your vid, I noted an unusual level of interest in the German press about the sale, so that tracks for me. I look forward to the ongoing and extraordinary history of this vehicle, which needs no embellishment, and will be keeping my eye on this important aspect of the vehicle, as I have done for the last seven years.

There's a Routemaster bus running around in Exeter, Pete. It is an original vehicle and I've seen her a few times. Well done you for putting up an incredible channel. You made one of my support workers cry when you showed us the almost exact white BMW 325i convertible he used to have! He used to drive it with gusto. Thank you so much for your entertaining videos, most interesting indeed. I've been travelling to and fro on buses for thirty years! All sorts of buses. Even broken down whilst on them too... Once again, thank you very much indeed and keep up with the incredible work on restoring these lovely old Routemasters. Stuart

Just a warning, its not all that easy to cancel beer 52 membership. You can't do it online, you have to do it by phone and it took them 7 minutes to answer. Probably still worth the hassle for the case of beer

My bus at work has had a similar issue for weeks and months now, they've had to pull the tank out and get it steamed cleaned as it was sat and its like black sludge in there with old diesel
