This has a jazz vibe - a nice double with the nod to Nina Simone - there was an album dropped Back To Nina this year. So smooth and mellow with bars and flows. Neat

Remember, Bas was a jazz musician/composer/arranger and Pete was in a Ska band. They know musical structure, phrasing (scanting which lead to rap) and swing. No surprise they can do this.

91shots and handsome Dexter have done all their beats from the start and the writing but they are locked in with writing to Pete and bas's strengths

How many times does the "their grandkids write their lyrics" crap have to be smacked back down? They have stated they don't have ghost writers and the various a rticles (including from the BBC) state that they write their own shit. Their grandkisd obviously help with the slang (as they've stated) and have likely mentored them in various ways about how to write, how to flow, etc to help them get into it, but there's no reason to doubt what h as been repeatedly stated. After all, we can accept that these guys have some of the best performances and flows out t here a t their age, b ut not t hat they can write bars? Come on, now. They're also legitimate fans of rap (epsecially Pete). While there are similarities between how they rap and some of the lyricism, that would seem to be the obvious result of having someone mentor you. And yeah, Nine produces some astounding fucking beats. I wouldn't say he doesn't miss (there are two or three that are just meh or even kind of bad amont the 25 or so P&B tracks), but Nine's beats hit *almost* every time -- and the beats they keep for Nine and Dex also hit hard. All around, what a talented damn couple of families.

There’s a lot of talk about Nine and Dex, or some other ghostwriter’s working with them. There’s a lot of talk (and confusion) about their background. Who care? Enjoy the meal P&B are serving up. Sometimes you don’t need to know how the sausage is made to enjoy it.
