Bas raps like hes just singing old war time pub songs played on the piano ,and thats what he does hes actually a musician. No skin off his nose with fast rhythmic lyrics. And bro.. We had hiphop in England in the 80s 😂 2000's 😂 its America thats 20 years behind the rest of the planet👍

Hip hop started in 1973. I got my first official tape in 1982 and I'm born and bred in London and have loved it since then. Also KRS one and Run DMC always say how much the UK promoted hip hop in the early years. Not preaching just answering your request for information. Peace

Check out their new album Mugshot. Pete (the shorter one) was listening to his granddaughter’s music/rap in the car. After a while he started to like it. He contact his friend Bas who played several instruments and used to be a bare knuckles fighter back in the day. It all started in 2017. The rest is history. My favoyOG’s ❤🔥🔥

Bas. The tall fella, his delivery and cadence got me back into rap as an art form. Eminem is good but these old cats have something unique. The contrast of vocals and delivery are outstanding. I've seen them live and obviously it's not as polished but the crowd adore them. So do I.

Story goes that Bas used to be a professional musician or music teacher or so, while in the employ of one of London's two largest crime families, and Pete did work for the post and council and whatnot, also while apparently in the employ of the OTHER big London crime family, where that sort of work let him make rounds for collections and the like. Whatever the truth, it does seem Bas has a music background.

So apparently they have both genuinely been active in the crime scene back in the old days, if the stories are to be believed, Bas ran a bareknuckle boxing outfit with his family and Pete was an enforcer for the Richardsons, both on the straight and narrow nowadays but all the gangster talk is supposedly the real deal from experience. how true that is I don't know but that is what has been said by multiple sources. Bas has also apparently been a musician for his whole life and can play piano and some woodwind instruments (that's why his breath control is so insane). some absolute bangers of theirs are: Sindhu sesh (their best in my opinion), Stepped into the building, longthorne shotgun and Bish bash bosh.

This is what blew them up 4 years ago. This is top three, but their masterpiece is 'Sindhu Sesh', and then 'Longthorne Shotgun' 'Browns' 'Bish Bash Bosh' 'Whirlybird' from the new album, 'Mugshot', 'Gangster Sh*t' 'Mr Worldwide' 'Stepped Into The Building' 'Quick 1-2' 'Slap The Stick' 'Action Man' 'T Pain' 'The Gentlemen' and many more from almost 40 bangers over only SEVEN YEARS. Masters 🐐 🐐 Hip Hop music and Hip Hop culture has been here in the UK since 1984.

Rap goes back to the 70s in the UK - Ian Dury: Reasons to be Cheerful Pt 3 was a hit about 1979, inspired by NY rap. Hip Hop was big mid-80s but house and rave became massive in 87-8, about the time gangsta rap appeared.

Dont talk over bars without running it back. Bas 2nd verse you didnt follow at all. If you gonna comment, pause and run it back to where you were before you talked. Its kinda annoying. Just a tip, I subbed. Too see how fire Bas is, check "stepped in the building" and dude in the back with the highway jacket is Patrick Karneigh Jr. He is sick and he has a freestyle on Sindu Sesh. Their crew is Northern Boys.

Basil Preuveneers was a notary, owned his business, retired, started acting, answered a casting call, and here we are. I imagine the story of 'Pete" is the same thing. The casting call thing makes me think the grandkids line that everyone says is part of their 'story'. The similarity in cadence to dex and nine makes me think they're the actual vocalists, but they perform live, so that confuses everything. Regardless, they're the best duo in hiphop.
@bigwody1233 күн бұрын
Agreed. The music stands alone on it's own regardless. They've been on repeat this year. I've seen the live performances and even though they're performing it live, it sounds completely different than the recorded version. Different voices entirely.
