"That is Fugees, unless they took that from somebody... ". Yes, they did indeed. It's a vocal sample of Enya, from the track, Boadicea. Here it is the melody alone... although the vocal element might be buried down in the production.
@deanosaur808Күн бұрын
I think it's actually a remake of the enya and fugees samples (interpolation) to avoid licensing issues. using direct samples is more costly, and they can create all kinds of legal problems 😅
@muninraven3327Күн бұрын
@@deanosaur808 Yes. One hundred percent. I sat for a few minutes trying to reach for the word I was looking for (interpolation), but it didn't come to me (red wine, haha); so I ended up stressing the melody was recreated. Thanks for the reminder/clarification. I guess the next time I need to remember that term might be tomorrow, or seven years from now. Who knows, I'll no doubt forget it again by the time I go to sleep. I'm too focused on hexadecimal drum breaks right now, haha. Cheers! :)
@joecorbally134Күн бұрын
Most sampled song of all time
@muninraven3327Күн бұрын
@@joecorbally134 I don't wish to be rude, but that is one of the most astonishingly horrific and ignorant statements I have ever read. "The Winstons - Amen, Brother" will most likely always be the "most sampled" song to ever exist. The short drum break has been sampled thousands upon thousands of times, and is even the creative foundation for at least two whole genres of music, along with all the many sub-genres. The "Amen Break" effect aside, thousands of songs have been sampled more than this... for the drum breaks alone. Hell, even old spoken word records from the 60's have been sampled and cut up more than this. I am at a loss here. 😶

Reacting to their biggest tracks first is a mistake. It means the reactor will see diminishing views on each video and stop after only 2 or 3 reaction. Seen it happen too many times 😅 Wise reactors do new tracks first then a mix of older tracks, saving the biggest ones until last 😎

Holy shit, Polo, I had NO idea you'd never heard of or reacted to these guys already, or I would have recommended them to you sooner! This is, IMO, one of their best tunes, especially to get started with. Try "Sindhu Sesh", "Stepped into the building" or "T-Pain" (and the relevant "T-Pain remix", in that order) next. I already knew some UK slang when I found them, but the more reactions I watched and the more I dug into it, in every last one of their tracks, damn near every last verse is a straight up bar, if not a double or a triple. At the beginning of Sindhu Sesh every verse is a two or three for one. Like, "I dream like Martin Luther, fall asleep to the sound of the Hoover"... which when you think back to the dirty shit J Edgar Hoover got up to as director of the FBI in relation to MLK... and that's not even full verse. These guys are SO worth this rabbit hole, which I strongly implore you to follow. Seeing people - especially my fellow Americans - react to Pete and Bas has been something of a new pastime of mine for a while now, heh, and as before, I still can't believe I'd never noticed you'd not reacted to them before.
