I took Amtrak a couple of weeks ago. The heat caused a freight train derailment in our path, and we were over 8 hours late. The awesome crew stepped up and ordered us pizza and egg mcmuffins. They had to have been exhausted, but they went the extra mile to check on us and make sure we were comfortable. Amtrak sent multiple texts keeping me up to date abouth the issue, making it possible for me to tell my realtives when to pick me up at the station. A few hours after we arrived, they sent an apology email. Finally, they gave me a 200$ voucher for another trip in the future. This is how you deal with people. The problem is even if you get a full refund of your flight because it gets canceled, you are still on the hook for costs on food, hotel, and lodging. If it's weather related or an act of mother nature or someone else's fault other than the airlines, you get no reimbursement for those costs. If you then try to rebook with the airline or with another carrier you are often paying the difference in airfare price. The airline prices goes up as it gets closer to departure. I might pay $200 for my seat while the guy next to me paid $400 for the same seat. Now as for southwest who I frequently fly with the most, they have been very good at canceling my flights lately to then reschedule me at times that aren't the most convenient. But at least the change fees and fare difference for rebooking was waived. Speaking of 'junk fees, if airlines need to be more transparent with pricing. Could the government also consider eliminating some of their fees? Like what is the 9/11 security fee really for? I thought I pay TSA, through my taxes? It's just an annoying $5.60 I have to pay everytime I am booking an award flight. And those points are free. I paid for for those points because I fly enough and book enough hotels.

That one too was overbooked, so had to wait for the one that left in the evening. Had to wait at the airport from 9AM to 6PM. Once the plane came at 6PM it got cancelled because something was wrong with systems. Only way back to LA was to wait at the airport until the next day 9AM again. Had to sleep at the airport on a chair. American Airlines, said they couldn't do anything to help me or compensate for. They gave me the phone number to customer service but they said they would call back in 9 hours and even then didn't call back. Once, I got to LA at 11AM next day, they lost my luggage and sent it to Mexico for some reason. American airlines baggage center told me I had to go to Mexico and request my luggage from them. I pulled out my phone to record and that's when the worker called her supervisor. The supervisor said they would send my luggage home. No one is being held accountable at these airlines and the travelers aren't being compensated at all.

Pete is the most articulate and easy to understand politician, scholar, multilingual, veteran, man! Pete was my 2020 pick and I still stand behind him. You can count he’s hands on and not just waiting for his staff to report to him.

Really? How did Pete help when the container ships were backed up off the coast? What did Pete do when the Baltimore bridge collapsed and shops couldn't get in or out? What did Pete do when the airlines shut down?

The infrastructure bill allowed 15 billion dollars to help upgrade or replace the FAA computer system, Pete had 3 years to complete this task it was never done. He is a failure.
