From what’s been reported, which was right after Christmas, Tomlin is expected back next season and is already involved in making roster moves and looking for an OC and they’d like to extend his contract that currently runs through 2024. Steelers have that strong reputation for loyalty, even when it’s been detrimental at times(not saying that’s the case with Tomlin). I think they realize that making Tomlin a scapegoat really wouldn’t fix their issues and they really don’t lie with him.. and unlike the titans with Vrabel. Plus they’re in the playoffs despite all the problems they’re going through. Ofc that things can always change and it’s not been said officially.

@Ki11Th3mA11Kid11 ай бұрын
Jamal Adam's trade wasn't on Pete thats on John Shnider 100% as the GM John is the one who makes all the roster moves, trades and such. And probably 75% of the draft is his picks based on his research and scouting. Pete's Job is to COACH and that's both the players. And the staff/other coaches under him who he also needs to coach up. He's only able to work with what he's given in that aspect. Though I'm sure his input and analysis and voice was definitely involved in all matters from trades to drafts and free agency but at the end of the day those decisions are done by John Shnider 🤷 And yes the Adam's trade was atrocious seeing how its played out and Adam's couldn't stay healthy if his ass lived in a unbreakable titanium bubble his whole life lmao. Dude would find a way to injure himself and become unavailable 75% of the season 💀💀💀 Adam's is legit talented. But if he's NEVER on the field then it completely nullifying that aspect. Because the best Ability is... you guessed it AVAILABILITY 🎉. Which Adam's is only good for 4 games a year lmao. But all the good draft picks. Free agency pick ups. Russell Wilson trade and Leonard Williams trade is from John who might actually be the best GM in the NFL to be completely honest 😅 if not that then a top 5 without a doubt. His draft classes on 2011, 2012, 2021, 2022 were all PHENOMENAL 💯🤯. Stacked with HOF players ane late round diamond in the roughs like Richard Sherman, Kam Chancellor, Golden Tate, Doug Baldwin, Tyler Lockett, Russell Wilson, Woolen, Mafe, Bobby Wagner and others who've played significant roles in our successful decade.

So, I looked at a sheet that showed the Seahawks cap space (1.2m) the players who are due big money and what the savings could be if cut pre-June 1st; How realistic is this scenario - the team cuts Diggs, Adams, Lockett, Dissly, (try to restructure) Geno's contract (or release him if he refuses), cut Okada, O'Connell, Whitaker, Bumphus, Morris, Thomas, sign Leonard Williams and Jarran Reed, keep an eye on the Justin Jefferson situation and potentially pursue him in FA and draft somebody (like Nix or Penix) giving that QB an arsenal of talent with Metcalf, JSN, Jefferson, Walker, Charbonnet.. I know the off-season is heartbreaking and these players I mentioned are more than adored and appreciated in Seattle, but if the Seahawks are legitimately in a new era - I honestly think this could really shake the NFC West (as well as) the NFC as a whole. That offense would be high octane and exciting to watch (depending which direction we go with coaches). As for defense, they have two 3rd round picks and a 4th they could address in the draft or see who is available in FA. I honestly feel like the Seahawks are a contender and are just missing a few pieces and feel like this could be what propels them to elite status.

I thought when they brought Bobby Wagner back he could become the eventual replacement for Pete Carrol, but at this point having led Seahawks in tackles I hope he plays a couple more seasons for the Hawks.

We can get Dan Quinn. That is why the Seahawks made the decision they made. I think after the Dallas Cowboys season is over (divisional round) you will hear the next day that Dan Quinn has excepted the Seahawks head coaching position.

Could you imagine the Seahawks hiring Jim Harbaugh, they would be handing him a contender. I think it would be spectacular! First thing on the list is a young Run and Gun quarterback durable, no Penix.

@KL-lt8rc11 ай бұрын
It had to happen at some point though. And while it's great to be in contention for the playoffs every year, the Seahawks haven't been past the divisional round since the loss to NE in the Super Bowl. And being a constant one-and-done is basically the worst spot to be in as a team, cause you're not good enough to contend for a championship and not bad enough to get great draft picks.

@greyhamlogan225511 ай бұрын
Seahawks should have gone back to back, but SB49 was their last appearance. The Patriots, however, won 4 more. Getting rid of Brady and the demise of the Patriots was their coaches' downfall.

I love Pete. Changes were needed for sure but I don’t think that a head coach replacement was the answer. I suggest that they hire him back and focus on their defensive problems among some others.

Coach Pagano, Pete Carroll was higher (also Vice President of football ops) in the organization than John Schneider. John would not be in on the decision to let coach go.
@Ryan-mq2mi3 ай бұрын
I love Pete Carroll. I have to wonder if it’s because of his age, though. People don’t really realize this because he carries himself well, but Pete Carroll has been the oldest coach in the league for many years now. Most people didn’t even realize he’s the oldest coach let alone for quite a while now, ultimately though I think it’s just because it’s a dirty business. If you look at what happened to Bill Belichick, I think it’s foolish to move on from proving coaches or even players after one or two bad years. Pete Carroll didn’t even really have a bad year considering you had to get rid of Russell Wilson, and he made the playoffs with, a career back up quarterback that was a starter for the Jets for a little while years ago. I would say that’s a success. It’s also more than possible that players we’re starting to mutiny. It’s a weird time we live in where we raised kids pretty badly to be honest. Spoiled, soft, untested, not used to any authority from parents or teachers or coaches, or anyone else, and it’s pretty hard to deal with. They have no idea what it’s like outside the United States , they are talking about mental health as far as depression and anxiety when they don’t feel good, wanting time off, etc. But who knows what the deal is. It’s clearly also just a dirty business. I think fans need to vote with their feet a little more when it comes to this kind of stuff. Because ultimately that’s what will drive the decision making.

@tits279 No.. it's literally not what selfish means. This isn't a complicated concept. Selfish is looking out only for your own self interest, not the interest of someone else (i.e. Wilson). And also, that's not even what happened so it's an irrelevant point.
@tits27911 ай бұрын
@@auzieten you can be selfish in favour of those you like more then others like giving Wilson his own office for years and destroying the team unity. And that's exactly what happened the dumbest decision in coaching history made by pete caroll

I just don't see a lot of upside when it comes to letting Pete go and finding a new coach. Yeah Pete has struggled to beat the 49ers and Rams lately but, he also is starting fresh after the Russ trade. When Mike Holmgren retired we got Jim Mora, that went well if you all remember. Hopefully I am proven wrong; Pete is just so hard to replace.
