When my father took my mother home to meet his parents the world series was in progress. It was the Yankees vs the Brooklyn Dodgers. My grandfather (an ardent NY Giants fan) asked my mother who she was rooting for. She said "in my family, one always roots for the National League against the American, unless it's the Dodgers.
