The ending broke my heart. When the kid is driving away "moving forward in life" pete's character working at the burger joint, sitting down in the rearview mirror on the curb smoking "basically showing he wasn't going to change". Such a real ending.

this movie was great. I was honestly surprised that it didnt have a predictable ending. and the way it ended had a certain feeling of emptiness, not really a cliffhanger, just an empty ending. I loved their relationship, but it was confusing. it seemed a little like peer pressure, or just bad influence in general. but I feel liek zeek made him feel like an actual person, not just some kid. I loved how it protrayed maturity, how he soon realized that even if it was a great memory, that he shouldn't revisit it, and at the end of the day the weren't good for each other (for the most part). sometimes life just happens. such a great film, ive watched this movie at least 5 times

I absolutely loved how Pete throughout his horror movie idea at the end when they're sitting talking at the burger joint and then in the last frame as Mo is pulling away it gets all intense and the music switches up to some music that you'd here in a horror movie... Nice little walk in to the next movie that he's about to drop on us. Quite genius in my opinion and I will definitely be waiting impatiently for it. Great movie for people like us who grew up similar to how this movie all played out. Shout out to all the rebels, outcasts and g's that make the world go round. Luv. 🖤👊

Well the whole subject of the movie was growing up. And throughout the movie, everyone around Zeke is growing up and leaving. The ending is uncomfortable because you're seeing Zeke for what he is, someone who might never mature beyond this point. The colors and setting, a drive through off the street with him wearing a hideous green and burgundy combo, is a jarring contrast to how we've seen him before. It is reality finally setting in as this kid sees his childhood hero for what he really is. Not the god of cool, but a dropout who will never go further than a drive through and his couch
