Peter wrote this song at my flat on the second occasion he visited _ I remember the tentative qu`ity of his phrasing as he strung together the string of pearls. I was offended that he referred to my home as the flophouse but ... Hey! its a song.

#Twilit .. It does actually reference to the time, the Libertines kicked Peter out of the band, subsequently at the same time the Libertines were touring Japan.. And Peter went to Carl's house, Banging and Screaming at the door 'let me in" Un-knowingly that the actual figure in the doorway window, was in fact, Peter's own reflection looking back from said doorway window.. and once robbing the flat, Peter took himself to Lisa Moorish's house (his baby boys mum's house) and emptied his heart out to her, to what he had just done.. And for that very situation, she called the police, not to dob him in, but to save his life... Not only for him either, but for Astille, his only Boy.!! So you can clearly imagine the heartache to the reality of the song.. Haven't you read any biography or are you even a fan ? 🤔
