He's a stupid person's intellectual. He never says anything with any intellectual weight, just spouts random nonsense and cliches to convince dim people that he's something special. Anyone with a modicum of brainpower can see that this interviewer is far sharper, more erudite and insightful than Doherty. Journalists have a job to do. That job isn't to let Doherty ramble on. This guy has met dozens of prima donnas and 'tortured artists' like Doherty, hence he doesn't approach him with the same hero-worship as most of the people in these comments.

You should do some research on his love of literature, and I'd say watch the Newsnight interview where he recites a poem he wrote when he was seventeen. These days he's doing really well and has beaten many of his addictions. Don't judge people at first glance.

These two started out really rough w/the interview... but if you watch part 2 & 3, they started to get eachother. Pete realized the guy wasn't out to get him, and the interview really went good after that. The guy interviewing him actually seemed to really like & respect Peters music & defended him, corrected himself if he called him Pete - all once they got past their awkward beginning.
