As far as new albums this year, I really have only bought True by Jon Anderson & Band Geeks and Luck And Strange by David Gilmour, which I was gifted by a friend. To be frank, this is the only ranking that really matters as it covers such a broad range. Yes, there's the comfort in seeing the reaffirmation of picks like Teramaze, Vanden Plas, Weather Systems and Magnum, but for me I know I can buy any of the top 30 without prior listening because I trust his choices. I will now purchase Early Moods, the Purple and Lucifer, all of which I've been holding back on. I am startled Frost* didn't make a list, but I love it. I have to admit that Pete rarely surprises me but the fact that Frost: Life in the Wires didn't make his top 50 is quite a surprise. Great video Pete! Merry Christmas to you and everyone at the channel. Some of my favorites of the year were from Judas Priest, Cemetary Skyline, Castle Rat, Borknagar, Vexing Hex and Crypt Sermon. Also I had two releases in 2024. Suffer released "Grand Canvas of the Aesthete" out on Wise Blood Records which is old school death metal in the style of Carcass meets Morbid Angel and also Rapid Fusion released "Life Elusive" which is a heavier style of music in the style of Tool meets thrash metal with clean and harsh vocals. Shameless plug but two records I'm super proud of.
