I still come to Tommy, and it still impresses me with its freshness and purity--and despite being a messy story. Tommy creates its own world. Nothing can alter my perception of Tommy beyond the original recording. That's where the magic resides. Listen to "See Me, Feel Me" from the orignal recording and tell me otherwise.

Oh I love Pete, not just the music, but his intelligence, creativity, insight, and desire to bring important meaning to music...he's like what Music / Rock is about...he's a wise grandfather of rock!....Something to be proud of!....and compare that with the values in music today!...Love you Pete! XOXOXO

Schubert last piano sonatas captured the imagination of the classical musicians and reinterpretations by hungarian Sir Andras Schiff and the imagery of the sad beauty. Classical music contemplative and soothes the heart and soul evocative and enthralling. Cheers Sir Peter and bandmates.

Never knew Pete's childhood was so messed up. There's your source of his rage. I was verbally abused, and that was bad enough. Stirs the anger.

One can appreciate the music composer, arranger, conceptual artist at the helm, think in abstract fashion and dreamscape to bring their creative projects to fruition the juxtaposition violins and piano various percussionist instruments to complement their voices. Akin to the inventors of cartography the contour lines Charles Hutton and Jeffrey Ambroziak parlayed into hologram technology interactive maps. Scott Draves visual artistry and Paul Hardcastle visual imagery innovative without exception. Cheers Sir Peter and Sir Eric with utmost esteem and affection

Whoa! Did Pete just say Keith Moon was a "right queen," who was having sex with Oliver Reed!? This video is 12 years old and this the first time I've heard anything about this.

One gets the distinct feeling here that he is talking well above the quality level of the story, which was not all that deep and not all that interesting, overstating its importance. The music is another story, which was well accomplished pop/rock.

To me, it appears that he is constantly re-making/re-jigging/re-developing ideas and concepts. These take the "story" a lot further. Maybe, in 20 years or so, there would be a fully-developed Tommy. This would, at last, blow all our collective minds. Like mine was on hearing it for the first time in 1969. Strength to your pen, Mr Townshend.❤

The story is incoherent, and the film is even worse--a crappy Ken Russell film. Also, Daltrey just doesn't work as the lead.

Pete, always a highly intelligent, creative man. Tommy the film was total crap. The Who didn’t have any part in that film, that is why, I hate it.

Pete is brilliant but the film isn't crap, it's pretty brilliant and original as a rock opera brought to screen. It's just an acquired taste for Who fans with that outrageous twist of humour (I didn't like it at first when I was so used to the album). It's ingenious though and always surprising.

sorry, but as much as i try to like Townsend i can respect his song writing i guess but if it wasnt Rogers vocals on those songs i would never listen to the Who. Petes solo stuff i cant even begin to listen to.

go... now... listen to his album 'Empty Glass'... listen to 'I am an animal'... or Jools and Jim.... LISTEN TO THE WORDS... and you will find his voice fits the emotion.

Wow, really? That's so interesting how different people respond to vocals!! When I hear Pete sing "Goin' Mobile" or even his harmonies in Who songs, gosh even the way he sings: "How do you think he does it?" in Pinball Wizard...and if you listen to Pete's demo of "Love Reign O'er Me" I'd love to know what you think of that one in particular. Cheers.
