One thing I really love about this layout and the guys building it is that while they pay meticulous attention to detail in the modelling, they still have the freedom of spirit that lets them enjoy running whatever locos and stock they please regardless of if the combinations would ever happen or if such locos would ever have darkened the portals of Leamington Spa. Keep on having fun guys.

The attention to detail is simply stunning, as is the scale speed of the loco's.. But then what would you expect, with the Legendary Pete Waterman! I used to promote a lot of his music, during my 35+ years in the nightclub industry.. & just like the music he produced, everything is absolute perfection. I still think the world of Pete today, as we are quite parallel in our musical interests, & hobbys. Give him a knighthood! 😉

Believe me the pleasure is all mine, I love taking the film...then coming home and editing all of it together. In all cases all the scenes do not follow each other, and I have to search as many as 100+ scenes and try to produce continuity as best I can. it is very time consuming....but VERY rewarding. Of course comments like yours helps a lot....thank you.

Dave Cooper As long as you love what you are doing, that is all that matters, right? People wonder how I can sit for hours and carve tiny components of my tiny hand-carved boats, but time just flies when one enjoys the labor. Great job of editing.

It is not me that has done all the hard work, that is down to a superb team Pete Waterman has on board. It is an on going (and going, and going) project, but bit by bit as you have noticed, it's getting there. All I do is go along and film the layout, and don't I love it.
@DaveCooper36b12 жыл бұрын
Pete Waterman is still very much in to music, and he has a 3 disc compilation out at the moment called "The Hit Factory". Not so sure he has the time to browse you-tube, but he does LOVE railway's.
@DaveCooper36b11 жыл бұрын
If you see an original picture of this scene, the model is just like it. And I agree with you, I would have loved to live there in the steam day's. You would be virtually on the lineside, amazing.

It is a private model railway, it's at the home of Pete Waterman. I was very lucky to get an invite to visit, some four years ago now...asked permission to photograph and film the layout, which he gave, and these videos are the result. I am often asked if anyone can come along the see this layout, but as I have said, it is private as it is on his premises.
@DaveCooper36b11 жыл бұрын
Thank you for that, it's nice to get back on the positive side again. Hope to have more film of the layout when the weather get's better. It is being improved all the time (every Sunday the regulars come over and work on the layout). Cheers.

Always like to videos about Pete Waterman's 0 gauge railway, I have both of the books, featuring some of the views and locomotives shown in the video. The one disturbing thing in the video is the runaway coal train hauled by the "Peak"! Hope they managed to get a driver on board before disaster happened! This locomotive would also benefit from sound to bring it to life. Will keep watching for more videos.
@DaveCooper36b10 жыл бұрын
Thank you for taking the time to comment, and am sure PW will be pleased you have bought his books. He has his own opinions on figures in locos...and on stations, which is fair enough....it is his layout. He has sound on most of his diesels, not sure why it is absent on the `Peak`. There will be some more videos over the coming month, so hope you watch.
@jwhful10 жыл бұрын
It is a brilliant railway, it is only when viewing a video such as yours that you spot these omissions, the railway is nowhere finished only wish I could be part of it's construction!

I will continue to post updates for as long as Pete Waterman allows me to.

This is a massive layout, and there are more important things to do first. I understand when all the priorities have been completed, then the minor details can be addressed.
@DaveCooper36b12 жыл бұрын
May I point out that when PW has a running day, modellers come along with their locos to see them run on the layout (to test them). This means you can get any class, any era loco pulling stock that may not be `authentic` for that time. I just film whatever is going round the track at the time, regardless of "correctness". Any other time Mr. Waterman runs the layout to the correct period with correct stock. Hope this answers your query.

sorry to double post, but 1 Question, How long did it take him to build all that? and one day i hope something like that is around here ( US ) to go see in person.
@Lindsay51379 жыл бұрын
thanks for pointing out that it's O gauge, I assumed 00 and was wondering how you got some of that detail, a great video - a "small' suggestion - maybe the speed could be dropped a little with most of the trains. Please don't take it the wrong way - maybe I'm thinking about my limited space and like to have them, take a little longer to get around. Many thanks Lindsay in NZ
@DaveCooper36b9 жыл бұрын
Lindsay McIsaac Many thanks for your comment, and appreciate your suggestion. Pete Waterman likes to run his trains as near as dammit to the real thing, so express trains will run at speed, at the same time...freight will run a lot slower. You are right in what you say, as sometimes the speed of the trains can make it difficult for me to film. I sincerely hope this does not spoil you enjoying the video.
