Okay. Wow. I’ve got like 30 mins left but I have to pause to say the two of you together works really well because you’re both sure and quick, so neither of you let the other get away with anything, but you still support each other too and it’s so so enjoyably interesting, informing, and fun to listen.

Incredible how refreshing it is to hear a guest that Pete doesn't constantly interrupt and who actually pushes back on the theories and rants most guests just politely nod along to. The best episode in ages.

This episode takes me back to the earlier ones with Duncan Trussel. Those conversations were so authentic and inspirational and I haven't felt a vibe like that again until this episode. Not that the other episodes were lacking in authenticity and inspiration, but there was just an extra layer of *something* that made those episodes stand out. Great chemistry, great conversation, and thanks for all of the years of content. I look forward to this every week.

Jake totally gets IT! THIS is IT! All the shit and the shine is IT! I loved Pete’s stand up because I felt he was woke like me! Then I read Robert Saltzman’s book “The Ten Thousand Things”! My 50 yr spiritual journey ended! I threw out ALL the books. I realized there is NO pot of gold at the end! No prize! THIS is IT! At 1:36 mark Pete says you have to go through it not around it, but you don’t even have your go through it! THIS is it! Just BE. I had been attending talks on Sundays by John Astin for like a year and never got what he meant by ‘This is it!’ Until I read Saltzman’s book! All that Non-duality stuff is just another belief! I was believing what some Indian sage said eons ago! I NOW know it’s OK to NOT know what THIS is! I stepped out of the questions and into freedom! I absolutely LOVEd Jake’s movie!

Idea, maybe it would help grow the podcast: similar to Sam Harris, and his Best of Making Sense podcasts, other than your new episode every week you could drop a Best of YMIW with selections of episodes from years ago, like the original Kumail episodes, Moshe, etc. I’m sure it’s possible with some thing like Midjourney to generate some animation to lay down on the KZbin with the original audio. Some of the big names you had before they were so big many years ago would possibly attract new eyeballs. Just a thought, if it sucks at least it was free!

50:27 I don’t believe it was fish eye lens i think it was an anamorphic lens. I noticed the same thing in the opening scene with the distortion of the door frame. These lenses allow for a wider frame but one of the drawbacks is some distortion of otherwise straight lines at the edges of the frame.

Pete, you know that a vast, vast, vast majority of people expect you to take your shoes off when you enter their house, right? I think it's an American thing -- more than once I've seen a TV show portray a person as weird or controlling because they asked someone to take off their shoes, but everyone else is like "Yeah, take your fucking shoes off!" You lived in the northeast, did you really just keep your shoes on after walking through the snow? How is it considered standard that you just keep your shoes one wherever you go?
