I actually use Teams for school and while it's really neat for general use and video chatting it sometimes gets annoying when you're trying to find assignments or change settings but this was a great review!

Very helpful. Thank you! And thank you for answering my biggest question (is there a difference in audio/video quality) right off the bat. Watched the whole thing anyway. Very well done. 👍🏼👍🏼

NEVER having used video vs telephone before, am now wanting to use the video to quickly talk with multiple to pass on info to friends on current situation (brother in an motorcycle vs auto "meeting" of which resulted in brother still in a hospital since mid March. We have been doing Marco Pole but want to share comments,etc all together also.) TY for educating me on the assortment of the 2-way videos available!

Hi Pete, I'm delighted to find you! I'm working from home as a Sign language interpreter in Canada. We are directed which platform to use for each meeting. Some platforms allow me to control my view, which is essential when there are more than 3 participants on my small 13 inch screen. Can you please tell me which platforms allow the user to control their own view? It's important for the deaf participant to have control of their view too because need to see the interpreter full screen, not in a teeny tiny box. Thanks in advance for your advice :)

Good vid. I realise that it was a comparison of *video* conferencing, but can you tell be which of them permit users to phone in from an ordinary landline - is it just Cisco WebEx?

Audio quality is absolutely NOT the same among those platfoms and is not a matter of bandwidth. In order to avoid echo issues it is important to use sophisticated algorithms and Zoom is on a completely other level compared to Skype. I use to have video conferencing with over 15 people in the same conference and Zoom works fine while Skype is nearly a nightmare..

Let's talk about Ram usage. Which one is better in your opinion? Some students don't have a too much ram. It could slow down the laptop when teaching.

Good night, I am a teacher messaging from the beautiful islands of Trinidad and Tobago. I just came across your video, wonderful job of breaking each virtual platform down. I am seeking your help/advice. Based on the distance teaching and learning that all countries are faced with, my colleagues and I are trying to find a virtual platform that will work for the idea that we have. So let me see if I can give an example of what we are trying to achieve. Ok, so we are interested in using a platform that functions like 'ONE building' that all the teachers can enter to get virtual sessions done, however, each teacher will have their own room that they will use to get their sessions done with their individual class. I hope you are getting me. In this way our principal, school supervior and department of education, will be able to monitor the different virtual sessions done by each teacher, within one building/platform. Like Google classroom for the sending out and submission of assignments. We are all utilizing one installed app and each of us have our individual classes within that one platform. We are trying to do the same for our virtual sessions that we can use in the same manner. Can you please guide me. Thanking you for any assistance you can offer.

Does anyone know if any of these video conferencing software have the following features: 1) The ability to have a private conversation with one person in the group chat. 2) The ability to mute one person in a group chat so s/he cannot hear what everyone else is saying. 3) The ability to have one of the video conference boxes be able to show a slide show. 4) The ability to record the session. 5) The ability to have at least 40 people watch the session and ideally be heard.
@JackDecker633 жыл бұрын
@@PeteMatheson Thanks for the reply. I am needing these features to do an online game show. I wouldn't want to kick them out. How fast could one force them into their own breakout room and bring them back? Perhaps that's the solution.
@JackDecker633 жыл бұрын
@@PeteMatheson EXCELLENT! Thank you very much! I will definitely now check out Zoom. And as my contestants will be all KZbinrs, I hope to have you on as one in the near future. Again, thank you.

@@PeteMatheson Just one more question. When I push them in a breakout room, can they still be seen in the box they inhabit on the screen? I am looking to do a four box conference call and they would be in one of those boxes. Or do they disappear until I bring them back?
@JackDecker633 жыл бұрын
@@PeteMatheson So the box would go ... black? blank??? ... while they're away? I don't have a problem doing this as they would understand why it is happening.
