Aerts finished his career the day he stopped throwing those KOing high kicks. But he really is a true legend, very humble and always in the mood for a fight, even past his 40s. I remember the fight he had against Sem Schilt in K1. Or even staying up against monsters like Badr Hari. When younger and more athletic fighters would go down quicker. Nothing but respect for Aerts. Tyrone is just a class act. Incredible career he's had.

+Baldwynmayhem Just in case you fail to realize, Aerts was in better shape than he was in his K1 champion days! He's already in his 40s, where he should start losing muscle and gaining fat. I'm not accusing him, just saying he might be on some "enhancement"

+Baldwynmayhem It does but that's not the reason Spong kicked his ass, Aerts is just no match against this killer machine in the first place cuz his guard is bad :p that might work against not that good opponents, but certainly not against a Champ like Spong! But respect that he still wants to do this challenges at his age, however Aerts is a natural heavyweight when Spong actually isn't...

but at that time there wasnt the talents we have today: badr hari..maybe badr hari was yust a child even then he didnt really look up to them, maybe he did on the one hand, at the other hand he already KNEW THEN, this is were i want to be, i will beat them...and when he trained and got little bit older, he knew...he was the better one,,, at the age of 18....so there you go...if it was so advanced then why aerts didnt advance too? he is still in da game and fighting, his fighting goes backwards

Dude, one hand, martialarts got improved, the other hand, fighters got old. It's not Aerts' fighting goes backwards, it is younger fighters going forwards. Aerts is 42 now he's still fighting. Ali stopped before 40! Also Ali lost his last two fights, does that make him a bad fighter in his entire career? No, it's just younger fighters learned and got improved from his fights.And younger fighters are supposed to develop better skills and techniques, it is their job!!
