✨READ BEFORE YOU COMMENT ✨ Well this blew up wow. Um, thank you all so much for watching!! I had a lot of fun making this and I’m happy to see that so many people enjoyed it!!! A few clarifications: 1. I really hate the cgi on the lizard in TASM 1. It looks terrible to me. I think it’s partly because the design is really bad but it takes me out of the movie which is what bad cgi is. That’s what I was referring to. But if you think it looks great, that’s fine. I do think TASM 2 has the best CGI out of all the spider-man movies. 2. “Happily ever after” is a joke, it’s a way of coping with the pain lmao. 3. People saying “people only appreciate the tasm movies because of nwh and how dare they become new fans” need to stop. I was one of those people who loved the tasm movies when they came out and I’m happy that they’re getting new fans. Keep in mind that the movies came out 9/7 years ago and that teens who were like 8 when the movies came out are discovering them now and that’s fine! You aren’t a fake fan if you watched and loved the tasm movies after nwh regardless of age and I just thought I’d mention that :) 4. Would anyone be interested in a part 2? They have so many great scenes that I had to cut a bunch out due to copyright.

It's the little details Andrew adds to the character that drives me absolutely insane. Like the way he holds Gwen's graduation cap when he was kissing her passionately so it wouldn't fall off. Like it shows that he takes care of her even in a heated moment of reckless romantic gesture.

People who say Andrew was bad at being Peter Parker make me feel disappointed that they missed out on how GREAT he was as Peter Parker. Unlike what everyone said, he wasn't too cool or suave, he was awkward and had trouble expressing himself and had baggage from being left by his parents at a young age. He had all the heartfelt scenes AS Peter Parker. Reducing him to "Andrew was good as Spider-man and bad as Peter Parker" (and then saying Tom was better as both, when Tom's was kind of a perky kid 90% of the time rather than a struggling young man in most of his MCU appearances) is writing off a great performance.

I got the impression that he was an outsider since he seemed like a loner and stuttered a lot. He does come off less nerdy when he tried to get Flash to stop tormenting the younger kid, so that scene I'd say was making him more of a heartthrob since it showed he's brave even without powers and going against a big basketball player like Flash; not a meek nerd. But I still think Andrew pulled off making him awkward and goofy enough to believably be Peter Parker.

not only is their chemistry unmatched, but gwen also has agency outside of peter, she’s smart and gives herself amazing opportunities, her life doesn’t revolve around him. and she actually helps peter (unlike mary jane who is just a pawn to be threatened and saved). she’s an interesting fleshed out character who helps drive the plot. i love the choice to have gwen find out in the middle of the first movie, it makes her much more useful and important beyond just being a love interest. gwen also fell in love with peter first, mary jane fell in love with spider man. anyway that’s why i agree and this is the best ever superhero couple

Even making fun of Flash directly to his face instead of under his breath. While I do have issues with how TASM Peter had a bit of confidence before the spider bite, it does help transition into his overconfidence in the basketball scene, as well as his general confidence going forward. At least that’s how I personally feel. I donMt want to start an argument on opinions, I just feel that Peter gaining and demonstrating confidence makes sense, no only with the comics, but in other iterations as well. The story of Spider-man is the story of a boy becoming a man, and if he stays the same timid, quiet, low-confidence geek that he was before he got his powers, then he doesn’t really change as a person (outside of Spider-man). While I have also enjoyed the MCU depiction, I really hope he becomes more snarky in his next trilogy

SPOILERS AHEAD It really hurt when we lost her. It's funny, I've read the comics before (several years before this movie was a thing) and as soon as we saw set-photos of her outfit, I knew what storyline they were going with. I just didn't expect them to do so well in writing her character, they gave her so much agency while also allowing her to retain the vulnerabilities that make her so attractive to Peter. She's strong but also emotionally disarming, you just want to love everything about her (not to mention Emma Stone is so incredibly beautiful). It's like she was written so even the viewer themselves would fall for her. I knew what was coming, I had known months before the movie even hit theaters, and it still destroyed me. It absolutely _d e s t r o y e d_ me. It hurts so bad I can't really watch this movie anymore because I know the chemistry between Gwen and Peter is gonna reel me in and then they're gonna spear me through the heart at the end of it. It felt almost twisted the first time I had to watch it, because they were literally moments from being in the clear. They had just beaten Electro, and they could have just walked away if little Goblin Jr. hadn't shown up. They were that close to spending the rest of their lives together. It's just not fair.

I really don’t think it’s fair to compare the relationships in the other movies because 1) Andrew and Emma were literally lightning in a bottle. Their real life love story was happening right in front of us, and 2) in all the other adaptations there is a love interest and a best friend. These roles are always separate and played by two different people, (ie Harry/ Mary Jane, Tony Stark & Avengers/Ned/MJ) whereas Gwen served as both friend and love interest. She played both roles which allowed Peter to get closer to her and rely on her in ways the other Peters never have because they either had a best friend, team, or both. In this adaptation, Gwen served as love interest, best friend/confidant, and support/team. That is what made them so great and convincing as a couple but also what ultimately doomed them and cost Gwen her life.
