That - is - SO - beautiful!!! A lovely song and the tone of that instrument is sweet. It’s like a 6 string mandolin with the mello tone of a guitar.

From my understanding you would need heavier gauge for smaller scale length. However you use thinner strings than normal. Is there a reason?

The reason is the pitch. One octave higher than a normal guitar. You need very light strings for this.

This is gorgeous. I have a piccolo guitar and I tried tuning it in E, but high string always snaps. I've snapped 7 strings already. Only one managed to hold for an hour before snapping. How on earth did you manage to make it work? I have 008 string. Trying to get 007, but it's hard to get hold of it.

@@LooneyNina mine is 43... 43,5 should do. I also broke strings, I'm careful when tuning the high e string to pitch.

it's standard tuning EADGBE one octave up. Scale is 430 mm.
